I think you will be happy with the homemade 3 gear. Mine has held up to 11 races on high bite carpet with a boosted 10.5. I had to leave the transmission case bolts loose with some Loctite . If I tighten it up it wil not spin freely although it has not been a problem .

Interesting. This mirrors my own experience. The desc was my go to 2wd truck and recently picked up the SC6 after trying the RT6 and RB6. It is so much faster on the track than the desc. It's not just steering that's improved over the dingo but weight bias as well. I'm running a shorty sideways and the truck handles awesome on high bite clay.

Is there any official statement from Kyosho about a 3 gear? Anyone prefer it in 17.5?

Nothing yet. I run it on my Rb6 and it's awesome. Ive heard its effects are mixed on rt6/sc6. If isn't broken don't fix it is my motto and both my rt6 and sc6 seem fine with 4 gear. 2wd buggy benefits the most from it I believe.

I've been searching Petitrc, Kyosho American and random spots, but does anyone know if there are other "team" driver setups online? I only see Tebos and the Factory guys. Looking to see and compare what Tanner ran when he won at the ROAR Nats and some of the other sponsored guys.

Anyone looking for a excellent product to lightly coat their gears should consider picking up some Eureka Pro Lube. It makes an already super silent SC6 tranny more so; as in ninja silent as well as more than silky smooth. Ran my SC6 all summer in MM config with a 10.5 and 6.5 thus having know issues with blown idler gears.

Also used Eureka Pro lube on my 15 XB4 and it made an already silent and smooth wheeler even better; Yes ninja silent and I had not one blown drive gear or crown.
Thus running the composite drive and crown as well.

Fella in Australia highly recommended me to try Eureka. I glad i did as it is one of the products that one can really notice its benefits. Thus its definitely not a placebo product.

Install the steering wiper part # umw701 so that the arrow on the wiper faces toward the rear of the truck. This will put the ballstuds on the swept side of the wiper.The ballstuds still face the same direction toward the front. But bye having the wiper spun 180 degrees from the stock kit instructions the ballstuds are now several mm toward the rear of the truck making it less twitchy.

I run 17.5 on an indoor carpet track and just switched to a 3 gear setup. I could feel the difference immediately. For me the truck always felt like it was "tippy" and on edge. Now it just feels smoother everywhere on the track to me. i was faster and more consistent than the prior week, motor temps were down as well.

To be fair I also switched from running an inline shorty pack to a saddle pack at the same time so Id bet that added to it being more planted as well.

just got me a new sc6 i plan on running mod. im still building and found the rear arms hang up on the chassis which means i would not beable to get a whole lt of droop. has anyone els noticed this also to run saddles i had to cut my side pods but i still dont have the battery all the way down flat on chassus i really dont want to dremel a new trucks chassis. anyne else experiencing these issues and have any input

If the arms will droop 3/8" below the chassis, that's plenty. If not something is wrong and double check the inner hing pin hangers and make sure you have the anti squat shims correct. Your shocks control droop. Mount them to the shock tower and just make sure the arm mounting holes fall below the shock eyelets when the shock is fully extended.

That's normal, I just put 1/16" thick adhesive padding under the battery

i havent even built the shocks yet but i dremeled a small amout off of thr chassis so that they will drop all the way. as for the battery pad i think i may run mty motor wires under the batery to make it look very clean. hopefully ill get my lazy ass over to my table today and wrap it up. thanks for the respose. the droop probably wouldnt have been a problem i just wanted to be sure i cud run a lot of droop if i needed i usually run my sc on sme pretty ruff tracks in the summer

test runs last night truck is close but very loose on entry on breaks. over rotates and seems a liitle loose going to try narrowing the rear axle

Is this in a fast sweeper, slow tight corner or both? What's your ESC brake %? How is your straight line forward bite?

is on tight slow areas. forward bite is pretty good
