Default Tekin RSX capacitor

ok, so, i just switched to onroad.. from 1/8 offroad, and we dont have capacitors soldered in the RX8 (internal as i understand)

anyway, the other day while doing some esc setup, and some playing with the data logger.. and testing some batteries.. i hit a bump the parking lot.. the battery plug came loose from the battery. so, i went to plug it back in, and there was a pop. not the typical, small pop (like when you touch a door after dragging your feet that i typically notice).. but.. a pop from the capacitor. little smoke, little nasty smell.

the speedo still works, and everything seems fine, did i just pop a capacitor? where can i get a new one quickly, i have regionals coming up this weekend, and i dont think i can get a new tekin one in time.

thanks fellas..

You can try opening up the esc and getting a closer look at the internal cap to see if there are any values printed on the cap. Once you find out the values you can try purchasing another cap of the same value from a specialized electronics store if there are any in your area. Hope this helps.

StormersHobbys.com. Part#'s TEKTT3518, 20, 22 & 52. Choice of capacitor required. 3552 good for 6S lipos
If RX8 shipped with Caps it should have installed. If not, Warranty maybe voided. I would take it apart, that will void also. Email Tekins for RMA. Takes 2 weeks.

Caps don't burn they explode. If a component smell its a bigger problem.

From the sounds of it, yes you blew a cap. It happens from time to time.

TT3520 is the correct part #.
