Quick question:

Does anyone know if this is the correct servo horn to use with my Savöx servo?

Savöx is replacing my servo and I want to make sure that I have it set up correctly this time so I don't break another one!

I am going to mount the steering linkage under the horn instead of on top this time as you all have mentioned it puts more stress on the servo... hopefully this time around I won't have any issues!

If you sand the face of the plastic diff cup before screwing down the gasket and spur gear , you can get a good seal without having to use a lot of torque. FWIW , None of my tekno diffs have been what you would call "butter".
Thanks I will give this a shot. They aren't real bad it's just not super smooth so maybe I am overreacting. But I will check it one more time before installing it

I also wanted to ask some advice on diff fluid setup. The manual says to use 10 rear 20 front and center. I bought the kit from someone and there wasn't much fluid in te bottles so I didn't thinkni would have enough of the 20 so i put my own fluid in. I used 30 center and front and 20 rear. But then I see ppl talking about using 5-7-3. ?? Or maybe it was 7-5-3. How does theories go? Fr-center-rear? Or rear-center-front?

The Tekno horn only allows for mounting on top, as the arm is lower. They make horns that should fit your servo depending on how many teeth the servo has. The servo in your earlier pic seems a bit on the tall side, which may still give you a bit of an angle.

25T is what I've got on my 3 Tekno rigs with Savox servos The link still goes on top, you use a flathead screw from below to attach the link with a nut and washer on top. The arm is maybe 1-2mm clear of the case, so it is a very low profile arm.

Would you be able to snap a pic? I would love to see it before I purchase the horn from Tekno if possible!

I am really thinking that I need to make that angle as little as possible...

Thanks!

This isn't the greatest pic, but you can see how the arm is at the bottom of the mounting hub. That is a 25T on a Hitec servo, & it's a little bit higher than the servo saver.

I appreciate it fine sir! I was hoping for a side view like the one I posted up earlier...

trevcoll - you had mentioned that you are currently running a Savöx servo with an aluminum Tekno horn? Could I get you to post up a pic of that set-up?

As soon as I figure out how. Am I supposed to slaughter a goat, sacrifice a virgin or get special dispensation from the Pope to get this to work?

That sounds like work. I'm going the goat route.

WOW - there is like no room there in between the screw and the top of the servo... and you say that you've never had any problems with this setup?

I really like the angle of the linkage though... it's definitely less of an angle than what I'm seeing now...

Thanks for posting that up for me man - I really appreciate it! :nod

p.s. What screw are you using there to mount the linkage to the horn?
