Gary Snow will have a brand new FTW ET48 body available very soon. It will be available through all of the same distributors that FTW has sold through in the past.

That will be awesome! Seems nobody else wants to make one lol. I was hoping at least Tekno would do a .3 et48 body made of at least a thicker lexan. That would have been a VERY worthwhile upgrade to a .3 et IMHO.

Good to hear. I asked all of the companies that make 1/8 scale bodies about an ET-48 body well over a year ago and FTW was the only one that said they were considering it.

#19 bit worked good. It still binds right at the end of the arm but once installed it moves freely. Idk I maybe the hole thru the arms isn't perfectly straight or something but it works ok anyways.

Gary Snow bought out FTW. He's been working very hard to get everything ready for distribution through the same sources that the former owners were using. I'm positive that he'll welcome new sellers too. He's hasn't given a date for release yet, but my best guess would be soon, very soon.

Very clever! Great looking truck!

I have a little concern about my center diff. I am in the process of putting my kit together and just finished up the diffs and arms and assembling the carriers to the arms. I was just spinning all the diffs to make sure everything was still smooth and the front and rear are very nice. The center is not smooth at all. Is there anything I can do with it to fix that? It is assembled properly, it just feels notchy when I spin the cups. Anyone else experience this or no?

Back the 4 screws out a few hours and spin the outdrives . If that helped then you know what the issue was . Most diffs I have hade issues with ,this cures it . Others , I had to rebuild and have found the cross shafts shimmed wrong , and another time I had 2 shims under one of the sun gears causing issues. If you sand the face of the plastic diff cup before screwing down the gasket and spur gear , you can get a good seal without having to use a lot of torque. FWIW , None of my tekno diffs have been what you would call "butter".

Thanks I'll look them up whenever I need anything. Almost finished my et48 build also. Just got to install esc and receiver, paint and beef up the body with lexan cutouts then dry wall tape and shoe glue it. The truck is fantastic but after reading the chatter on here I am worried about the strength of the shell. Is there an update on an alternate shell from either you guys or another manufacturer? Looking forward to racing it next week it is everything I had hoped for so far.

The only other manufacturer I've heard is even considering another shell is FTW as has been discussed very recently on this thread. The only thing I would recommend adding to your body shell for strength is 3M rubberized undercoating. One of the RC Tech contributors performed a very extensive test and found the combination of drywall tape and shoe goo covered in the 3M rubberized undercoating worked best. That is exactly what I've done and I'm yet to have any sign of body failure. I practice and race outdoor on a very abrasive and rocky surface.

FTW closed. They won't be releasing one any time soon.

Just wondering if anyone has used DE Racing Speedline wheels. They seem to be the only mfg that has other colors in wheels other than white and yellow. But after looking at them they look like nice wheels.
Someone had posted I could mount badlands on any 4" truggy wheel. would I be able to mount them on the DE wheels? I just started thinking about bead styles... Is it definite that badlands can be mounted on any 4" truggy wheel? Or should I just get the +2mm tekno hexes and use the desperados to be on the safe side?

You will have to settle for 3.8" with the Badlands.. They are considered MT tires..

Ive never seen them mounted on 4.0..

The badlands will fit the 4" pro line vtr wheels . Don't know anything about the DE wheels . The traxxas bead may or may not fit them , but size wise the 3.8 tire will go right on a 4" wheel no problem .
