I'm running a tekin prohd 3000kv on 3s and love it. Im using smc 4300 battery and getting more then enough running time. I'm running a 14t pinion which is the smallest that will fit. I would stick to 3000kv or lower on 3s

I run on a medium/large sized high bite indoor track most of the time and I see so MANY guys that can't even come close to handling the power they are trying to put down, its funny to watch them keep going to more powerful motors and cranking up the punch/current limiter etc. thinking they are gonna crush people now cause they are FAST! The 4300HD is a great motor but was too much for me personally, I actually prefer my Novak vented Ballistic 4.5T 550 2 pole on my track, zero boost but with a bunch of turbo timing in the ESC, smooth and controllable and faster then most down the straight, real easy on the battery and temps are good. I run a Orion R10.1 in my Tekno with the above motor, get alot of guys looking at my stuff and scratching there heads trying figure out how my little baby ESC and wimpy 2 pole out runs most of them. I would like to give a Hobbywing Xerun 4000KV some testing though, have try'd the 4700KV version and its a beast (too fast for me) but a serious battery hog, the 4000 may be the ticket though.

I have the 4000 right now in my .1, but bought the 4300 for my new build. I'm gonna give it a try and can always turn it down

I have a Turnigy TrackStar SCT 4150kv motor with a HobbyWing SCT Pro ESC. It's so fast I can barely control it, and I have the Punch on 1.

Hobbywing 4700. I ran the 4300 for a few races and hated it. Too much low end TQ. By the time you put enough current limiter in it to make it drivable, you are still at the same top end as the 4600. Then at the same time you start draining your battery quicker. The HW is much more smooth through the power band, its easier on batteries, runs much cooler. When local guys are running 16T on the 4300 and temping 170, I run a 18T and temp at 130.

I replaced mg HW SCT Xerun combo (4000kv) with this Tekin set because I was wanting to get more serious about racing. I kept the motor, but the esc is not that great in my opinion. I still can't get it to link up with my pc, it kept shutting down at the end of 5 minute heats and the castle BEC didn't fix it. I also don't like how you have one stroke of the throttle forward for a brake, the second one goes into reverse.

Lastly it kept going in and out of sensors mode.

You have something else going on. Contact Tekin about the issue. You may just have a dud. It happens with every mfg.
If you have a Dell computer, you may need to restart it in safe mode to get the hot wire to connect.

i completely agree. i liked the xerun 4000 kv motor, i absolutely LOVE the 4700. fast, smooth and cool. i even got a lucky one and to swap between my 4000 and 4700 all i had to do was swap the solder posts connected with the cap screws. i've seen these posts as non removable, cone/dish connection and the slotted connection, i'm not sure if there if there's a method to their madness as far as what solder connectors they use, but it's a nice little bonus when you can swap out a motor without having to resolder anything.
