I'm sure they've knocked off some parts from some thing else, just what it is I'm not sure yet. I'm betting that parts are going to be a pain to find though.

As with most things at Hobbyking. Open the page up and let it sit for a while. 15 mins + usually does the trick. Then you'll get a little pop-up offering you a 'one time only discount' Which I think brings the price down to $92 USD...
Note- this usually only works the very first time you look at the page. So if you've already been there it probably wont work again (unless you log in from a different IP address....)

Ha! I had and ABC Genetic once. It looked carbon, but it was just a very nice sticker on some FRP.

Yeah racing used to do a full cf top deck and bottom chassis for the Genetic. I know as I snapped the kit one and replaced with the Yeah Racing items. Of course at the time I purchased two, just in case I broke another.

Not sure. Heard there was some tie in between EDS/Hudy/Arrowmax at some point. I know for sure a lot of their pit accessories are generic fluff, easily found on sites like dx.com.

Having spent the past few months creeping my way up the supply chain for some bulk buying, I'm finding a small group of OEMs are making the bulk of what we buy and use.

I think you will find that Hudy doesn't outsource their manufacturing (tools, cars, parts). Others maybe, but they have a multimillion Euro top class factory built with EU funds for the specific purpose of keeping manufacturing in Europe (Slovakia). I strongly recommend a visit. Their higher prices come from a more costly labour force, but I think quality is on par.

Not sure what you call pit accessories (towels, and stuff like that?). Isn't "pit accessories" the definition of fluff?

As for EDS tools I have some. There's a serious difference between those and Hudy tools.

Compared to Hudy, the Thorpe/Mip ones are better. I seriously have SAE Thorpe drivers that are 30 years old. They have built 40-50 pan cars, rc10s, etc and 30 years of maintenance on all of it. The tips still fit tighter then any hex you can buy now. Now the old school handle doesn't look fashionable any more but they are easy to grip and they work.
