Is there another body that is an acceptable alternative that will improve the handling over the BMW?

I have an Audi R8 that is ready to go but I've been hesitating to use it because of some feedback I've heard from others that have tried it. I've only been back into RC racing for about a year now so my experience with bodies is rather limited....any input is welcomed.

Thank you,
The best thing about USGT is the fact that there is no single "Best" body. I have run RX-7's, RSX's, Eclipse's, Z370's and am currently liking the DP Corvette from McAllister. I am waiting for my LHS to get me the new X-Stang prototype.

Try a few different bodies for yourself and pick what fit your driving style.

What is the x-stang prototype? Are you referring to the new McAllister Mustang?

Like the details. Do the mirrors hold up?

I actually don't run the body. It's just the body that our local fast guy is running. I've driven the car and it has a very direct feel. It does what you tell it to do. I don't run it because that's the go to body here. I run the ZL-1 because no one here like it. Lol

Her does not run the mirrors. He also run a cut down Tc wing.

Very good looking body. Great quality.

Thank you,
I've run several different BMW touring car bodies from HPI & and Tamiya and I'm currently running a Protoform ZL1. I find the handling on the Camaro very similar to the BMWs. Very neutral/balanced front/rear traction that doesn't change at speed. However, I don't usually run the stock wings. I use the big molded ones from HPI part number 85197. I used the big wing with the BMWs but I had to switch to the smaller "scale" wing from the set with the ZL1, the big one was just too much downforce on the rear.

Next up is a McAllister MX-Stang if I ever find the time to finish it.

Anyone running a 6.2 in USGT? If so, would you share your setup?

Anybody hear anything about any other new bodies from Protoform coming out in the near future? Like maybe a new Caddy.

Mackin,

I think you'll hear more about at least one new body from PF in a few weeks.
Would be really nice if it was a Caddy!

Myron,

I'm running on carpet. I'll look for your post on the 6.2 thread.

One of the cars I like so much is the BMW M1. My son showed it to me. Seems like a great USGT body just waiting to happen.

New Product release from McAllister Racing-

#308 “HOT ROD GT”- 1/10th RC Body- for 190mm Touring Cars

Add some cool factor to your GT class, or any class that uses Touring cars, road course or oval. Classic Hot Rod styling with the latest aero of the front splitter and add on rear wing. Very low profile and sure to turn heads. Crank up the ZZ Top on the headphones and go racing. You will feel the smile come on your face!!!
