plastic that doesn't bend back?? I guess they went for a too rigid plastic

I found hobao one piece wing/wing tower incredibly strong. I put one one my xray truggy after breaking the xray wing tower. I did countless missed backflip/front flip/180° ...

I did break everything except the wing ! a dozen arms, 6 gearbox, bent chassis, 2 broken wheels, bent tower, bent main drive shaft, broken plastic endrods...

We finished up the track this morning at the local spot (Hobby Town - Longmont, CO!) After we watered down the track and gave it some time to dry - we busted out our "stuff" and started testing out the newly revised track!

The track this year is way more wide open with big sweeping corners (easy to get out of control when you are really gunning it)... anyway - going around these big corners on the trigger is going to be nasty on the front steering bolts in general. Today, I had the bolt that holds the top of the steering knuckle pop out and the front tire popped out of place and the dog bone also slid out of the outdrive from the diff... No big deal. However, I noticed that the other side feels stripped. Kinda weird.

I guess I'll just head over to the hardware store here in a little bit to get a couple of bolts that are a bit longer to *hopefully* get some more bite in that knuckle and hold it tight!

Has anyone else noticed anything like this?

Have a new et never ran got it out today to just do a couple drag strips in the yard make sure it everything worked as should before getting to the track. I did one back and forth and got on the breaks a little hard and the back end came over as soon as the wing hit it snapped the shock tower off of the diff case. I know iv heard this is a weak point on the truck but it was a extremely low impact role and I Feel like it should not have broke. Has anyone else broken the rear dif EXTREMLY easy?

Depending on when the kit was made it may have gotten one of the rear diff cases from the bad batch were a lot of people (including myself) were breaking them easily, I haven't had any issues with them since then and have many hard crashes on the wing upside down since then in both the ET and EB.

You could reach out to Tekno and they may send you a new one, or just buy a replacement and see if have any further issues. I always keep a spare or two of them on hand.

I tried out the mechanical break this weekend. Gotta say i'm not really a fan. Granted I may not have had it set up correctly but I just couldn't seem to get a feel for them. biggest issue was that I couldn't get them to start engaging soon enough or to be strong enough over all. Always seemed as if I had to give it full trigger press to get anything out of them. Tried adding negative expo and that helped some.

It was on a race day and I caught a rock or something that gouged the spur and discovered what a pain it will be to change the center diff oil with the mech break and just left it off and went back to normal motor breaking after that.

I suppose if you are coming from a nitro background or just really got a benefit out of setting the break bias it would help, but for me it's just not worth it.

That's what I was kinda hoping I ordered a replacement and a spare rear diff cases last night hopefully I just got an old version and don't have any issues. I have the eb48 as well and have had no issues

If price is that close I would definitely do the Tekin

The Tekin will be the best for racing, with the Xerun second and the Castle Mamba system being flat bad. The castle is probably the best system for pure bashing.

In short: Castle is sensorless and generally overpowered for racing. You'll probably need to add a BEC if you run the Castle. The Xerun is a good system, but the motor runs a little hot and the ESC is an extremely tight fit in Tekno vehicles (go look for pictures of the modifications on this and the EB48 thread before deciding to buy it, so you know what you're getting into). The Tekin stuff fits perfect and is probably the most popular race package, and still has gobs of power.

At those prices, I would put the Tekin as my first purchase, since it would do both things well, and probably the Xerun as my second option since it will do both decently as well and is cheap.

did not see it in the thread. i have been cutting my bodies out a bit differently and have got tons more life out of them. helps a ton and many others are having great success with this cut style

Good idea, I had thought about leaving more on the back end. I'm trying this next.

the front is where i see a big difference on cracking. the big slots i have keep the back in check while leaving more on the sides in the rear have helped as well
