on the hinge pin brace I went to the strc on my old truck. it was a little thicker and had orings inside it to help keep it on the pins. and with the new T bone racer front bumper it has a taller piece of plastic to help hold the brace on better.

Must be a running change. My original skid had really small plastic tabs and between the bottom mounting screws was flat. Now the have the larger plastic tabs and you can see where they added some material between those two screws to help keep it from bending in that area.

If so, I had a problem losing mine because the bumper would deflect and not hold it in. I'm trying to find another way to keep the brace on.

I use these on my Kyosho RB5 buggy and it works great. The hinge brace is captured by the nuts so it can't fall off.

My buddy runs those and they do work great. I think he might have had to grind on the arm just a tad to get them to fit??

Thanks Drift... I can't believe he can run that thick of front shock oil and it don't break that shock tower. Granted he's on the 2nd hole from middle but it only takes one wrong landing off that triple. Just goes to show how good they are.

In A1 he broke something on the left front. Not sure if it was the shock tower or bent a shaft but on the entry to the double triple something went wrong. I'm surprised that Kyosho hasn't addressed the shock tower more. That is definately the weak spot of this truck. Even the new four hole tower has all the extra material inside the tower and not on the ears.

I wonder if the old trick of boiling the plastic would make it less brittle?

Default Setup Best Option for Kyosho SC6

I am looking to get a SC6 wanting to set something up for stock 17.5 Racing

TEKTT2423 - Tekin RS Gen2 Sensored Brushless ESC/Motor Combo (17.5T)
Geared 26/76

Gearbox Upgrades
KYOUMW718 - Kyosho Aluminum Idler Gear (26T)
SHL1304 - Schelle Racing Nova RB6 Buggy Conversion
MIP13160 - MIP "Pucks" Kyosho Ultima SC Drive System

I need help with Ball studs and turnbuckles Shark413 talks about 54mm turnbuckles that matches the manual, but other people talk about different kits with different lengths. I have also read through is thread on RCShortCourse

From what i see i need 6 x 54mm but them separately not as a kit?

Is there a ball stud kit to match SC6?

The bulkheads, suspension, hubs i understand.

Is there anything else you might suggest?

Are you running regular stick packs, saddles, or shorties? If you are running shorties, your the SC6 will be under the 2098g minimum. If you and the track don't care about the minimum weight, it all good. If you and your local track do care, I would suggest getting the brass front bulkhead and brass rear front suspension holder to bring the truck back up to minimum weight requirement.

My SC6 weighs in at 2115g with both of those brass pieces. I run shorty packs and do not have the nerf bars on.

I would also add the RB6 axles to your list as the stock SC6 axles tend to bend on me.

As for the Ti turnbuckles, they need to be purchased separately due to custom link.

I would forgo the Ti ball stud kit and use the money towards something else.

If you want the updated part, you need to specify UM602B. Unfortunately, there are places online that will give you UM602 instead as they are interchangeable. UM602 is for the Ultima DB. UM602B is for the Ultima SC.

So I have been looking at these trucks and was just looking for some feedback on how this truck would perform on a low grip and bumpy track? I would build it in the rear motor configuration and was curious how it performs out of the box on this type of track. Also what battery configuration would be recommended as well? Thanks for any help.

Yea, thats the part i was referring to. I have that one, but my original kit did not come with that updated skid plate.

I just recently picked up a used SC6. The truck is so much better than my SC10.2. I race on a tight indoor track and I could never get my SC10 to settle down. I put this truck on the track last Friday night for the first time and I was instantly 1 second faster without any tuning. Have any of you tried the brass battery brackets? I saw them and wondered if they would make the truck feel even more planted.

I ran it with a stick all the way back to the gear box. Cut the 2 small tabs so it goes all the way back. You'll still want the 4 hole tower and maybe a set of 4 hole Pistons.
