Holy crap, had the chance to try this combo out. Combined with the an exhaust cooler, I was easily getting over 10 mins of runtime. More power than I needed anywhere on the track. Triple was no challenge even without much of a run up to it. Thoroughly pleased with this setup as I can keep pace with brushless buggies through most of the track.

The turbo head button with a turbo plug will gain more power also.

Hi guys,
Can't make up my mind between a blast v20 or v21? I had a P5 XLT and enjoyed the power on that one. What I did not like was replaceing the bearings after 2 galons.
I run this in a serpent buggy.

It's weird, there are pretty much no threads or reviews about these engines?
Also how do these V20 and v21 (stock not clocked) react to the Nitro-Mizer insert? and how do they compare in performance with a p5?

Thanks

I had the v20, great motor, actually ran it in my Truggy. Plenty of power, it was a clocked engine. Also have had about 6 P5's and never had to replace a rear bearing? I had to replace a rear bearing in the V20 though but I dont blame the brand, they are all Novarossi engines.. Both are good engines and for the price can't be beat. Can't go wrong with either.

I have had this engine for some time, New front bearing. Engine has less than 1 gallon on the pistion/sleeve. running Odonnell Fuel/Odonnell Glow plug no 99.

I have taken the engine appart, inspected it and all appears fine. Engine was resealed with engine sealant. Carb sealed also. Stills idles high.

At first, I thought there was bubbles in the fuel line a I cleared the bubbles and still idles. Fuel tank was removed and pressure tested for leaks. Non I could find.

Using clear fuel line so, i didn't see any cracks.

Any suggestions??
All Engines have this problem after some gallons. Is air getting inside. Check all o-rings (all on carb and underhead and back plate). Sometimes is also front bearing problem. Sometimes both. If you intending to fix this, just for the experience for you to gain more, try one step at a time so you know what was the problem.

I have realize that when flame outs take place after refueling, most probably will be carb o-rings. But i couldn't really find exactly the problem so i check all o-rings and front bearing every time. rear bearing doesn't really cause problem tuning but it cause a lot of noise when engine is running. Main problem in my country is having this small parts and repairing the engine.

Any experience on troubleshooting the Engine? Specially BXR? Please experienced guys share some knowledge.

Anybody still running a Blast? I still have a NIB V15 that I can't sell, so am wondering what to do with it. I've had two engines modded by the same guy so far, and honestly I've seen nothing over stock. I'm not going to send it overseas though to get it modded in the States... I suppose I could send it to him again and really emphasize that what I want is more power. But I don't want to spend €100 needlessly... Or maybe the V15 stock is just fine for beating around(in a truggy, buggy, or SC8.. Not sure yet..)? On a 2058 or 2013 (I'd have to spend €50 to get the latter...) I wish it had the blue front bearing...

If it didn't get done right the 1st time it won't the 2nd. Don't waste ur money. Very few engine guys do timing changes. That's why only 1 guy does my engines.

Hambone is right, if they are not making timing changes it isnt helping much. There are only a couple modifiers in the Usa changing timing and understand it. I was just working on a modified engine this week that had only 185 degrees of total crank timing. I did one other just like it for the customer and all I changed was crank timing and he could not believe it. He also was getting over 2 minutes better runtime!

I might actually be able to send it over with a friend or relative and just have to accept getting it back over a longer time period.. But if I spend to get it modded for power, my next question is, if it gets a big increase in power, does that mean a big decrease in longevity? It's kind of hard to believe it wouldn't.... How's the stock timing on a V15? It's already got the double filled crank, MES, etc..

Hi fellas, I recently ran my Blast v20, Dash for cash Barmah Victoria Australia, my engine is clocked, bye one man ONLY. Engine ran flawless ALL weekend, with Saturday qualifying day in the 40 degrees. Never ran over 110 degrees. The bottom end power on this engine is unreal, it had so much power on any part of the track. What was more surprising is the run time this engine has, easy 14min tank in my truggy. I also have owned P5's, they are a awesome engine, never had bearing problems, now run clocked Clio, this compared to my stock Clio's is like chalk and cheese. Im a big believer that a stock engine will NEVER perform the same as a Clocked engine, or last as long! Get the right modifier and your world changes for the better!!
