I hope they hold up, they are the msr8's. The lhs rrecommend them. I said I want something a little beefier than the traxxas big bores. Looks like I'm way low on the diff fluid! I'll probably run it next weekend then open it up and drain it. All of my parts will be here by then hopefully so I can assemble it. Is there any way to post pics without links? Also what do you guys recommend for gearing? I'm gunna get the rr slipper because I liked it on my revo. Probably 60t spur. Are the flm hybrid diffs the same ratio as stock?

Check BuggyBasher's build post for his gearing if he dosn't chime in. I'm pretty certain the 1/8 diffs are a lower ratio so gearing up is necessary to get back to even stock top speed. I'm still on stock diffs so I can't tell you for certain what to run for pinion/spur

That's a bit high gearing to start. I've running RR 65 with 18t pinion on 4s temps are around 140F. How many cells are you going to run? If you plan to run the cc1717 that gearing won't work.

Im going to run completely different pinion for the 1717. its going to be a 34t pinion and 60t spur for the 1717 because thats about all that will fit. but i have a 17t and 18t pinion at home as well. Its actually a 21t pinion i ordered so i will be able to play around with it a little. It will be run on both 6s and 4s ill just watch the temps. Remember it has the flm hybrid bulks in it as well, will also be running trencher x tires. I just put an order in for traxxas big bores. Im just going to sell these integy shocks so i can still call them new. Ill probably take a $25 hit on them!

The 1/8 diffs are geared lower than stock. I run 20/65 RR on 4s and pretty much everything flm. Its running on the high end of 150 F and runs great. I'd say I'm getting close to 40mph but haven't checked it. I have a 21t pinion but haven't played with it yet.

Looks like I will start with 17/60 then and see how the temps look.

I run 21/65 in my heavy flm emaxx with a 2200 sensored system with the hybrid bulks. Its never gotten hot on 4s, but gets hot quickly on 6s. To be honest I havnt had a chance to really drive it hard since its been wet and really cold since I built it, but I do think 21/65 is fine for 4s. I will be dropping to a 15t pinion for 6s driving in the future.

Just for an update I have yet to receive the flm chassis. I emailed them Saturday to see if they could give me tracking and hopefully I hear back soon. Big bores are in and the integy are on ebay. I ordered some Lunsford hinge pins for the rear upper. The truck already has ejector pins for the front upper. Still waiting on a few parts to start assembly but a big chunk has already arrived. I wish I could post pics already!

I don't know if a 60t spur is going to work with a 20t pinion. I tried running a 62t spur with my 20t pinion and I couldn't adjust the motor down far enough to get the gears to mesh properly. I stripped the spur in about 60 seconds. I had a zip tie around the motor for my temp sensor though so that probably took up about .03-.06" of adjustment... so maybe you will be ok, just a heads up to watch for that. I have 1/8 diffs too and right now I am running 65/20. But I haven't been able to really drive it hard and test the speed since I have built it because of the weather here. Good luck.

FLM has been very buggy with mailing orders out. Anways FLM chassis are known to have two specific stress weak points. If you are interested try to get your hands on a unlimited engineering chassis

I'm not sure where your finding your info but the only issue I have ever come across with flm is..... the flm lcg chassis having a weak point that has now been corrected. As far as the extended chassis (which most of us have and chipmonk I believe has ordered) has no issues. Its a beefy chassis. The UE stuff is overrated and built strong don't get me wrong but usually ppl who buy that stuff use it for shelf queens. I beat the hell out of this truck and very little has broken if at all. The chassis is still stout. There is many who do this flm build and I can see many of those don't actually run that truck like its built. I my self can say I do. On a second note the UE stuff is way too hard to find, why waste the time.
