The aluminum wing mounts and the heavy servo saver spring are both good upgrades. I ended up replacing my front shock tower with the aluminum version, but the carbon fiber shock tower will be ok unless you t bone something wide open..

I never upgraded my knuckles to aluminum, but I do not see the point personally. Maybe there is a difference really good drivers could notice, but I doubt there is much of a difference. I never broke a knuckle or hub carrier in two years of driving the buggy. I had some bad crashes as well.. It may reduce the slop, but you could probably keep shimming the front knuckles with the plastic shims to keep slop down.

hi guys. what can you say about upgrading my front front knuckles and hub carriers to aluminum? in terms of durability? will it lessen the slop? is it worth it?

I'd have to vouch for the plastic's on the Serpent cars. Very durable. Good mix of soft for durability but stiff for precision. Wear is very good, could go a season or two of racing every weekend before needing to replace.
The Aluminum knuckles improve the precision and the durability. But more so the precision. Going to the aluminium knuckles and caster blocks in the front can make the steering feel more precise, more direct. But I wouldn't replace until something breaks.

I'm sure someone probably has, and I wouldn't doubt that Billy probably tried it in his R&D of the first version. But this is just my speculation.
In my opinion the Serpent Ebuggy's current layout is great but like everything else I'm sure either layout has both it's pros and cons. I was looking for it the other day, but at one time I came across a column written up by a manufacture's engineer on how they decided to run the 4s brick instead of the saddle pack layout. It made clear sense and had me going back an forth on which layout to choose, because with mathematical logic it clearly stated that the 4s brick layout has the advantage in a better balanced chassis. Though I have yet to prove thier theory with actual desgins in hand.
But I liked the design and the compact look of the Serpent compared to the other designs. Also helped that I've been a Serpent guy since the release of the S811 Nitro Buggy and always lusted after owning one of thier onroad rockets when I first flipped the pages of a Car Action magazine. Call me a fan boy if you want. I mainly stuck with Serpent because it's what I know and like to drive.

Well I've got it done....
-rotated it to the right rear.
-Stood up 2 shorties on their sides in the left battery holder using Losi straps. Moved receiver, transponder, switch with 28grams to front left corner.
-scales out evenly
-butchered right side plastics
