i didnt have to gear up on my 1900...the lrp esc doesnt have a "timing" setting, it ran fast on the smooth esc setting..mugen gearing 46/15..and it was fast

Ok. Perhaps I need to go up a couple teeth, 14 or even 15. I will have to experiment. Thanks!!!

I've got a couple of the SM-1 motors and like them for their price point. What are the differences between the SM-1 and the newer SM-2?

I have one of the SS-1 17.5's and am looking forward to the next gen 17.5 getting released. Any word on when that might be?

Danny doesn't have a firm date yet, I believe he is going to wait on feedback from the big race at CRCRC in Ohio. the new SMC 17.5 is the handout motor for this race. Hopefully we will get a release date soon.

Completely different motor.......and Manufacturer. although Danny really liked the SM-1 motor the factory that was producing them was very difficult to get product from and almost never got him the product by the date they said they would so he went elsewhere. From what I hear the guys testing the new ones say they are even better than the version 1 motors.

got my smc sm-2 mod motors today, nice surprise on the sensor wire, but too short even for my mid motor 22. other thing is on one of the two motors the solder tabs are bent slightly as it appears they did not line up with the holes.

Have you ran the new sm-2 yet? How is it?
