I don't know about other rules, but the transverse battery limits the number of bodies that can be used here in the UK. Our rules state that none of the chassis can be seen sticking out of the body when viewed from above.

Probably also depends on the wheelbase. Xray may have a shorter wheelbase than the other cars. The battery position will give more rear grip, but also more steering due to a shorter wheelbase possibly. If i can see correctly in the picture, the servo may be mounted further back also.

With this Xray body on the car, the chassis and all side-links are definitely not visible when viewed from above.
