Tekno NT48 Thread
#677
I just checked mine after a club day and a 3 day major event and this is the movement in mine, no performance issue at all yet, may just pull it down and try and shim it a little tighter to reduce the amount of play in the rear pinion cup.

Mine was just a tiny bit of movement, never got worse, never caused a problem. So im not even concerned with it anymore.

Pulled mine down today to check for movement, and found absolutely no movement at all. I've owned the truggy for about 5 months and have really put it threw its paces, which leads me to believe this issue may be isolated to a small batch off rear bulkheads.

On a different note i have built and owned nearly every truggy on the market, and i can honestly say i have never owned a truggy that was so fast so smooth and so well balanced as the Tekno, this truggy is absolutely amazing, it steers, jumps and handles like nothing else i have ever owned, i honestly don't no how anyone could drive this truggy and buy something else, it has blown me away.
Thanks Tekno.
Here's a small video after playing around with setup.

I checked mine as well and its not moving at all but one time on my NB48 the set screw came loose on the coupler but didnt come off and it ended up messing up the bearing and housing with rubbing and the forces of the coupler causing the pinion to be off balance, did your set screw come loose at all?

Imbue brass Pistons seem to settle the truck faster.I'm still trying different set up with them, but for now I have 35 ft. 32.5 rear.I like the fact that they use a ring to seal piston to shock body, this insures fluid passes through the holes in the piston.I like them.

These pistons seem to be getting a lot of positive feedback all around.
I'll post some feedback in regards to their performance, as well.

I have run the original spur gear, and have had no issues with it. However, I have only run it for about three complete race days.
I have the updated spur now; I can't really tell much of a difference. I am assuming the primary difference is the material itself. I am currently swapping it out now, just because I trust Tekno and don't want to take chances.
BTW, I love this truggy. This is my 3rd truggy, and this is the only one that you can drive more decisively. With the previous 2, I had to setup for corners with how the truggy drove (wide steering). Now, with the Tekno NT48, I can dive into the inside of corners and remain on the inside (much like buggy). It gives you a lot more variance to how you can run your lines throughout the track.
Plus, it is tough as hell. Have not broken a single part, and it has taken some hard hits. Kind of helps when you aren't the best driver, and simply finishing the race can move you up.
