Interesting timing for my question... so, I've been running the HPI BMW M3 body (HPI7352) for a long while now and I like it ok. The two complaints I have with it is that the front wheel arches are pretty low and thus rub on tires if you fit the body as it should be (aesthetically speaking). The other complaint I have is that it doesn't fit a T4 too well, the front sticking out too much and requiring two layers of impact sponge strips.

So... I'm thinking of trying a new body. Anyone with a T4 that can recommend something that fits well? Or, in general, any popular body that I should try out for it's handling characteristics? I prefer 190mm. I hear the RX7 is a good option and/or maybe a 911. I prefer HPI bodies over Tamiya, though I've been tempted by the Tamiya Mercedes SLS AMG GT3 (51534)... hm.

I run a T4'14. I run the PF Camaro. It's great. I went to 1.75° of rear toe and the car was money. Set fast lap by .3 tenths(A main at our EOS). I also like the Jaguar by McAllister. It was really good. Just carved up the track. I wish I would have spent more time with this body. I think it could compete with the PF Camaro.

I run a Tamiya bmw body light weight and it performs very well. I bought it for the looks, reason why I love this class. I don't run HPI bodies besides the one on my mini so I can't say what I like better but I have ran quite a few tamiya bodies and pretty much got them all to run very similar racer times.

That's why I run the Camaro. Ever since our race director bought a 1:1 Camaro I have been eye balling the PF Camaro.

I have raced for 13 years now and I can say hands down this is my favorite class. I love the real bodies and tires that last 6 to 8 weekends. I retired 3 years ago and only came back 6 months ago because of this class.

Looks good. Who's "Howler" that made your decals?? I need to get some made for the Pertronas Lexus that I want to do for my USGT.

Metalnut is looking for something other than the camaro. our club almost banned that body in what we call scale spec its usgt and vta combined and run the 1450g weight and hpi tires and 25.5 motor. i have run the camaro and its a winner in my book. but its kinda the obligitory blob body. he wants something scale good looking/ handling. i race with him (well i used to run in the same class but moved up to give everybody else a chance to win instead of me lol).

personaly metalnut, i would go for the porshce. i ran the same body way back when i was in onroad before and its a good handling body. its very neutral. or run the 68 camaro. either handle pretty well.

Yeah, I'm trying to avoid the PF Camaro and the LFA, I know they're very fast but that's why everyone chooses them. I like to be a little different without sacrificing too much performance

Tamiya does have an EVO X body too...

I have been running the HPI 7335 Porsche 911 Turbo Body, 190mm, for the last 12 months. I ran the Porsche 911 body in Spec GT at IIC in Las Vegas and finished 5th in the A-Main. Out of 10 cars in the A-Main, 8 of them had PROTOform Camaro ZL1 bodies, 1 had a Tamiya Ferrari 599XX body and 1 (mine) had a Porsche 911 body. I honestly don't think that a Camaro ZL1 body would have improved my finishing position in the A-Main.

Is the rear downforce pretty good on the 911? The wing looks a little low and flat. Otherwise I could definitely try it.
