All I know is that one of my good friends refused to sell me a tekin esc because he knew I only ran Novak motors.... He informed me of the incompatibility issues between his tekin esc and novak ballistic motors...

I ran a Novak Ballistic 17.5 motor with my Tekin RS Pro for a whole season, no issues at all

I run a Tekin RS- powering a Novak. So do many others that I race with... and we are talking outdoors in the South, extreme temps. No issues.
We get it, you have a OCD-like love / obsession for Novak esc's.... now quit acting like they are the most issue-free speed controls ever made, and the only way to go.

In Drammen, MustitRC sells Tekin. And one of them baddest Tekin Escs is noth light and small. Its a clear favorite currently. The specs are also most impressive.
I can't speak on compability but the hobbywing juststock esc with GM 13.5T motor is kinda funky. It starts, hits a rpm and then boom! its as it gets boosted. After that it is completely normal feel and response. I might have to dial back the punch. Read about that somewhere (manual?) I kinda feel it does not have any punch at all mind you. Not enough direct throttle feel at low speeds.
It had it before i added timing to the motor too. I have to have timing as i can't gear it low enough currently.
