Smallest (by weight) ESC for mod (7.2V)

So who has the lightest esc for modified? that is good for about 6.5T motors?

I guess its all about amp draw. But thats a discussion of interest too. Indoor vs outdoor track and so on.

With or without fan?

Most are around 40-45g or so without fans and wires. Having a quick look now at the usual suspects, the LRP flow is the lightest at bang on 40g (according to LRP!)

The tekin Rs and Novak impact are in the 20's but they only go down to 8.5/7.5t

Tekin RSX

cplus 10-20-2014 04:26 AM

Rsx is no lighter than the rest. Tekin says 42g.

The muchmore Fleta Pro is 43g and the speed passion reventon pro 1.1 is 40g. Both without fans or power wires.

Hey you're the expert, not me.

My Hobbywing V3.1 stock spec is pretty light.

Thanks! thats relevant for an TL-01 im making. Its troublesome to have a large motor on the side. So i bought a Team Powers 9.5T mini motor. (140grams) I hope it matches the Hobbywing 9T sensorless. Because that motor had enough power and was pretty light once i modified it a "little" (150grams)

40.2grams without fan

Sounds to me that LRP is what need to look at. I like how they run things.

Just as an example.

32grams and over 5.5T recommended

Im not saying thats the model im buying but it is light... Perhaps there is someone out there who knows about a simpler and tiny ESC. For instance i doubt anyone is actually fond of autoadjusting brakes whatever that is. Sounds scary to drive with.

Says 40 grams here. I haven't put the ESC on the scale but it is pretty light being a primarily plastic case.

I got a regular V3.1 coming in and its an aluminum case, I expect it to be much heavier.

If you had an Lrp motor, then a Lrp esc would make sense... Mixing and matching does not always work....

This just might be the most ridiculous statement you've ever made.

Great..... Let's hope Mats never experiences incompatibility issues with his non-refundable esc purchase..... Good luck in Drammen Mats.....

HW V3.0 is one of the lightest, smaller footprint and lighter than my LRP.

There might be some truth to this. A lot of people claim LRP ESC seem to work better with LRP motors (particularly when using dynamic timing) where as a HW ESC will work with just about all motors.

I haven't had an issue myself perhaps user/setting error.
