My 14 was under weight and so is my 15. I do run titanium bottom screws and alumn top screws from Hiro Seiko.

I'm always 40g over at 770g. I run the LW Protoform AMR 12, Titanium screws, ORCA VX1, 16awg wire, MKS 8910A+ servo, D4 13.5, tires trued down to basically rim, ProTek 6400mAh, Sanwa 472 Rx and Hybrid MyLaps. All wires are as short as possible. No roll-over post. Graphite axle.

Only balance weight I have is about 6g to balance the pod on the spur side.

I tried removing the servo posts and using double sided tape but that only saves about 4g.

Any tips?

Luke

I had Xray 2014, which was a bit of a tank. Did some mods with it. It was 745-750g after that.
Some tips from my experience:
Sanwa SRG-HR microservo, drill new holes for it.
Don't know how much Orca VX1 weights. Orion R10 1-2S that I have weights only 35grams (no motor/batt wires, no sensor wire, no capasitor bank).
Change pinion to lightened one?
Motors have differences too, how much is that 13.5T D4 compared to other 13.5? Some mod motors are even down to 160g. usually around 168-176g...
Anyway, find out how much your electrics are and compare.

Hi

Can the yokomo r12 c3 take normal tires or does it have to have rear tires that are off set?

Tried that. Well, servo-taped it down. The mounts and screws are only 4/5g.

So, when I bought my RC12R5.2, I was told that it's "a piggy" as well. I assembled it with the aluminum screw kit (except center pivot, front block a shock mount screws), S9650, ORCA VX1, ORCA 17.5 motor, Airtronics 471 receiver, CRC 7000mah battery and 16ga wire throughout, and with a leightweight body, ready to run, I weighed in at 726g. Kit parts throughout otherwise.

I chose the Futaba servo over the JR because it weighed less, and both the ORCA ESC and motor are light. I'm running the CRC battery (for now) and it's lighter than the Reedy. If you're trying to save weight, maybe look at your other compoinents?

That's the thing - I have. I tried by weighing different batteries (ProTek is the lightest I found) and picked the lightest servo I could find.

I'm not trying to save 4g, trying to save 40g. Problem is it must be spread out among everything in little bits.

Anyhow, got a CRC on the way and will be tearing everything a part and recording weights while I do it this time.

Cheers!

Luke

I think running the yokomo tires with the true Japanese foam would be the biggest reason to buy that car.

I would think a rev6 is fine to get back into it
If you stick around for a while and are having fun, then maybe update that kit, or build something new

Last year I ran all Crc stuff WGT and 1/12! I want to try the on-point line of cars but I've never ran a R5 frontend nor have a seen a 17.5 on-point car run either.

What alternatives are there for 1s esc's? I'm just getting back into 12th scale and was looking around for one. I know Hobbywing has one. Any others?
