B and C main drivers will go faster by 2-4 sec per race. I've seen and lived it myself in the US since this car has been introduced. Say what you want but you won't know until you try one.

Wow pretty cocky there. For Pavement racing i would say European's and Asian's are better on average as most US drivers don't have permanent asphalt tracks to race on year round. But when it comes to carpet racing we know what we're doing.
Have you ever been to a US national event and raced 17.5 or 13.5?

Unlike (almost?) everywhere else where anyone can race at different countries national events.
I would like some US drivers to come over for an ETS carpet event (which I haven't taken part in myself either) to see how everyone stacks up (I'd get thrashed
), but everytime we look at US events, there are too many classes and a lot of the time not many in each class.I realise this doesn't apply to every US event, but quite often, it does.
Forgotten which round of the ETS had over 200 drivers running 13.5 blinky, seem to recall a further 100 in Mod.
I'm not slagging off US drivers etc like the above, but until everyone is at the same events it's difficult to tell.
P.S. ETS winter carpet meetings only run Friday-Sunday, so you'd only need a couple of days off work (and be capable of dealing with jet lag
)

Yes I have, and I have a perspective of rc racing on both sides of the pond since I moved over here 8 years ago from the Netherlands.
Also, when the europeans come over for big events on carpet, like IIC (volker), snowbirds (hagberg, groskamp), they usually take the win home easily.
Don't get me wrong, I like the awesomatix and the concept behind it, and would even like to buy one instead of my Tamiya. However calling it a "cheater car" or this unbeatable thing, is not backed up by any real results and just makes me smile. American national races don't mean anything when these drivers do not even make the show in a real world wide event. In my opinion drivers leave too much on the table to be judging the true speed of a chassis.

Ten Year's ago when LRP Touring Car Master was the biggest race on carpet in Europe some of best the US driver's like Mark Pavidis, Brian Kinwald Paul, Lmieux came over to race at this event against the best european driver's an a few japanese driver's like Masami, Hara and... gues who won..
But that's not the point carpet is not carpet and asphalt is not asphalt to make a real judgement give the top 20 drivers from this worlds every chassis represented in the top 20 for a month to work out a setup and than let them make time trials with every car one on carpet and on asphalt and you will see who's the fastest combo....
Don't judge a driver or car only on one race look a Formula One these Days what's going on with the Redbull team.....
I know we are off topic

You are correct you can only get so much traction from the tires but what the car does with that traction is what's important. At least in the non-mod class the awesomatix is a game changer. If you gave the top 10 drivers in Europe and Asia an Awesomatix for 2 months to figure out a setup for there driving style i can almost guarantee, with 99% accuracy, they would go faster by more than 1 sec in a 5 min race.

In fact, that would be a great idea because it will force companies to make new designs. Might even spark a movement to rethink the design constraints imposed by ROAR.

(Back on topic) I'm curious about the separate suspension mounts. I'm wondering if they changed them because the inline separate mounts can cause tweak and limits chassis width in those areas. I'm running the aluminum Samix chassis on my 418 and I notice the chassis bows up where you tighten down the separate mounts. Loosen them and the bow goes away. It could be that or the Samix chassis is using the wrong countersink angle for their screw holes.
Another note, do you think they changed internal ratio too? I'm just curious because they changed belts unless if they moved the motor more forward. Or they changed the material.
