Sounds like you may be chassis slapping on the face of the jumps. I would try a little thicker oil or change your pistons to have more pack.

What's everyone been using for shock oil and pistons on a normal eighth scale track?

What oils are you using now? A lot of people are having success using diff oils of lower weights, they're finding it more controllable.

None I'm in the process of building the truck, I have read that the stock one's are too heavy so trying to find out what most are running on hard packed tracks with medium traction. And also what's the majority using for shock oil, pistons and springs? Thanks for the help.

There was pretty good discussion on diff oils a few weeks and several pages back. Most common for the Tekno sponsors drivers seems to be around 10-15-5 or 10-10-5, if I remember right.

If you haven't already, make sure you check the Tekno site for the posted setups at various tracks. They're really easy to find.

im using 10-15-5 and loving it. might try 10 or 12 in the center because i run on pretty low traction tracks. as for for everything but diffs i used the stock settings. also took out a little droop and it has been super dialed. i run on med outdoor low bite tracks.

10-10-5 seems to work out very well on most surfaces.

Guys I went to the black csi shock bladders and non vented shock caps and it really helped with bottoming out on jumps. In my opinion it is better in every way with these changes. As for oils I am using AE oil

50wt front
45wt rear

10-10-5 for diffs

My truck is very easy to drive and does everything well. I race against high level tallent and have not lost a single round including qualifing and mains.

Fyi I race at Fear Farm in AZ look up nitro challenge 2014 and you will see my track.

I like the way 10/15/5 and 15/15/5 handles, but about 7min into a 10min main the diffs are overheating and the truck starts diffing out.

I am thinking of picking one of these up.

what is the word on motor Kv to use for racing on 4S?

I am looking at a 1700kv motor to get a bit more gearing range, based on the 4.44 tranny ratio.

Any opinions?

Also, assuming a 4S 5000mah pack, what kind of runtimes are you guys getting? Mainly need 10 minutes.

Thanks before hand.
