I've tried the lightened out drives in my EB48.3 and they are starting to show a slight groove already after a months use so cant see them lasting long in the Truggy. Searched for another option but drawn a blank, any advice ?? Txs guys.
The 8th scale outdrives are all the same. They shouldn't be wearing excessively though unless you're running in fine sand or not lubricating them or running already worn drive shafts. If you think it is excessive, contact tekno's support with some pictures and receipts for time of purchase, and how you're running so they can try to help you out.

On a more serious note, I bet you learned a lot and probably have some questions now!

I had a whole bunch of spare Associated pins left from my RC8.2e and RC8T (good riddance) 'cause those pins never bent - the expensive arms always broke instead! Used my Dremel to cut about 1/8 inch off the pins so now they fit the Tekno. Viola! Cheap hinge pins!

I also remember somebody posting a while ago that they buy 4mm drill bit blanks and cut them to the proper length.
I have broken 2 rear arms, they snapped where the hingepin is. Pretty strange, was driving slow.
My hingepins got bent as well, which is pretty annoying for a "pro" typer of car.

Get yourself some 4mm spring steel (ebay) and cut it to the right length, no more problems like that.
With my other cars, the hingepins never got bent that often, quality seems a bit average...

i think the hingepin bend because the arms are so stiff : any hit is directly transfered to the next part : the hingepin

I don't think so, the quality is simply not good (if not to say sh*t); other users have good luck with hingepins like from Assos's, these hingepins don't get bent.

Yeah, but the Associated arms break instead of the pins. Arms are typically more expensive than pins and you can't finish a race when your A arm breaks. If a pin bends, you can typically make it through the rest of the race.

With that being said, I FINALLY broke an arm today on my EB48.3. First time I've ever broke one. Still haven't broke one on my Truggy. Nasty crash - got bumped in the air on our big triple and landed sideways on the front left arm. But I kept driving for a few laps before noticing it was broken.

I would recommend the 2000...it should be the the sweet spot....however if you are a smaller track the 1700 will be fine and feel smoother...

The two most common motors put into the ET48 lineup are the Tekin 2000kv truggy motor and various 1900kv buggy motors. The lower kv and also the buggy motors, will have less bottom end and be easier to drive.

Guys are the NT and ET the same part for part, aside from the chassis/center diff mount/radio-battery tray? I have an opportunity to pick up a nice NT48.3, good price, and will then convert to electric and still come out ahead in the dollars and cents column.

Thanks guys for the feedback!

Nothing in the middle will be the same. The front and rear clips should be the same, but that's about it.
