Tekno ET48 Thread

I use the 1900 and its plenty even on a large track, ive tried the ridiculous power route before and I am definitely faster with less power but more controllable delivery.

Yea i went with the truggy 2000kv, but think I would have been better off with the buggy 1900 so I would have more standardization with the buggy. Less spare parts to keep around, could swap out if one of them blew up, etc.

just ordered my et48 kit from stormer last night and it will be here wednesday. from the reading i have done it seems the diff shims are the only issue. from my understanding the eb48/et48/and sct410 share the exact same diffs other than outdrives. i have two new packs of shims that i bought for my sct410. should i build it with those instead of what is included with the kit? they are the same part numbers on teknos website?
also i run on a med sized rough loose outdoor track. cant decide between the tekin 1900 or the tekin 2000. i read on teknos website that they recommend the buggy motor. cant wait to build this thing!!!

The Alu Tekno horns are my fav now. The Hotbodies is pretty good as well for mounting the link below, but think it puts extra stress on the servo with it's leverage. Never had it cause an actual issue, just something to consider.

Quick question:
I have never set-up a truggy or buggy or anything before... this is my first time. I am trying to use Mark Unrath's set-up sheet and I don't fully understand certain parts of it..
My question - Is there somewhere on the internet that explains in good detail what's what when setting up one of these truggies? A link or something would be helpful, I couldn't really find anything myself

I just read on the EB48 thread that Tekno are in the process of writing their own set up guide. Can't wait to have that. I hope they have direct references to the Tekno vehicles and not a generic guide.

We're hoping to have it done in 3-4 weeks. It will address mostly generic attributes since most of the cars are similar, but we will definitely put in specifics where possible (i.e. SCT/EB/NB/ET/NT specific tuning advice).

Yea the stock plastic horns are garbage. Not sure why they even bother including them in the kit. Just creates a bad first impression for anyone who buys the kit without reading the forums first when their $700+ rig won't steer by the time they get to the mains in their first race.

I received a new Protek 170S for the truggy today and it came with a servo horn that's kinda upside down like we need so I guess I have a spare horn now.

I ended up buying the Ofna horns from page one of this thread for both my Tekno vehicles, just cause I didn't know if any are better than others. They're both working fine but the holes for the link aren't countersunk so there is very little clearance against the servo body. I ended up filing the case of my Associated XP servo when I moved it to the EB48.
