-also do a search on their site for "M05", you will find about 6-7 lipos that will fit the M05's nicely.

TQR- is my fav' online retailer for RC parts. It seems that all of their parts are really geared towards the RC'r who racers their cars competitively (as I do). They don't sell a lot of BS upgrades, most are purpose built to make our cars better. --just my opinion.

I thought I read that it wasn't worth it? Says you'll get higher top speed, ...but at what cost (reduced acceleration)??

High speed gears give you top end, slower acceleration and more heat. Other factors are they're not well made and banned by most rule books, including TCS.

Thanks for the battery tips! They sell Peak packs at the track (for $10 more than TQ unfortunately) and a lot of people like them. I noticed TQ has 2400mah 45c packs for $20, that means same speed & power but less runtime right? I'm on a super tight budget at the moment and hoping to get as close to $60 for 2xpacks as possible.

The track is concrete and pretty new so it has yet to be "broken in". The offroad track is nearby so it's pretty dusty, definitely not high traction. Here's a video of the 1st Mini race: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10154227998575215

Yeah, I use that Turnigy in my M-05 fits just fine, although I had to trim the battery retainer on the lead end to clear the balance connector wire a bit better. But FWIW, it does NOT fit well in an M-03 (or M-01 for that matter). I'll be ordering some Peak packs soon!

I get quite a bit of runtime out of my peak power 4200 pack. Haven't timed it, but easily a solid 20mins + ...our heats our 6 mins add an additional 2mins of warm up laps, ...i still have plenty after each race.

Does it at least fit in an M03 or would it be better to get a rounded LiPo pack?

Keep in mind that it is NOT tcs legal to run a square pack in a m03/m05, even if it fits without cutting.

I would definitely recommend getting a more rounded pack. That Turnigy pack is obviously more round than a square pack. It's not as slim as my old Orion 3200 packs. I don't consider the Turnigy to be a square pack, but you'll need something a bit more slim in order for it to fit in an M-03 or M-01.

Good to know. I'm prepping an M03 and a TA03F for rally racing this fall and need something with longer runtimes than my 2000mAh NIMH packs when running a 15turn.
