heloo guys,
I could not find almost any info on LRP 4pole dynamic 10 motors. I ll be soon getting 4600kv version for my buggy, planing to run 2s for practise & track and 3s for speed & bash. If you have any experiecne with the motor, you can write it here, so that others know too
And I was also wondering, what kind of ESC would be suitable to use. I am looking at MM pro (actually hpi Q base here, limited to 4s) , hobbywing pro sct and then some 1/8 scales ESCs - I rather tend to overkill it, than to have issues due to insufficient capabilities of the speed controller down the road. What confuses me, is the KV limit, e.g. hobbywing has 4000kv on 3s and I do not know, whether it is due to current limitations (which might not be an issue, as a light 1/10 buggy on buggy tires draws far less than a SCT) or it is due to switching frequency of the ESC and its inability to do it fast enough, for 4 pole motor of higer KV on 3s, as we are approaching 60 000 rpm (I do not thing this is the limiting factor, but rather be safe than sorry).
I used to run LRP iX8 w 4.5t 2 pole LRP motor on 2s in 2wd buggy and the fan was always running, the ESC was always somewhere between warm and halfway hot..with not ideal gearing, I could easily hit thermal shutdown. so I feel like its questionable, whether it could handle longer 4 pole motor on 3s.. I do not want to have issues with it.
Any suggestions would be appreciated, thank you
And by the way, I know it is a lot of power for my car, but I needed a 3s capable 4 pole sensored motor with closed design and not castle 1406 (bad experience), so this LRP is the only available thing here.

yes, I know. Already running the motor on iX8 esc, it is awesome. But as you say, I have to by really careful on throttle. More powerful than castle 1406+SV3 I had before (and much much better quality+smoothness, control) , on 3s even more than lrp 4.5t octawind I had too. But I got used to speed, I like that feeling of power, of course I have to limit it on the track, but off the track, I enjoy it
