Practice will yield longer run times because you sometimes have to check up for wrecks or just avoid other cars because there are too many out there.

I run a 2100kv motor and I'm pretty easy on the trigger. This was on 2 medium - large tracks (~200 foot straights)

Was thinking about spending the extra $20 for the 6500 but think I'll go with the 5000 for my MBX6 Eco. Might as well go all out budget build lol

30% more capacity should yield 30% more run time

I have yet to run a track that I couldn't get a 10 min main out of my 5000 packs. As far a racing goes the 6500 is just overkill and extra weight to carry around

So I just got my SMC 7200 2S batteries...I went to solder on my usual "banana" connectors, but promptly found that the wire insulation is too big to fit through the plastic "polarity protector" case thing. I tried to force it by a few different methods...nothing seems to work.

These are the type of connector: http://www.amazon.com/Redcat-Racing-.../dp/B00D25G2HA

It goes like this--to attach these, you slide the plastic cover over the wire, solder the bullet, and pop the plastic cover over the bullet. But if you can't slide the plastic over the wire in the first place, there is no way to get it on the bullets after soldering the bullets on.

So what do I do? Do I just switch everything over to Deans' connectors? I don't want to use bare bullets, plus I can't...I didn't order that version of the battery. I want to keep all my batteries "universal" so I can charge them all the same and put them in any vehicle, but the only batteries that are giving me this problem are the 6 new SMC batteries.

Is there a connector other than deans that would be good? This will be used on everything, SC, 1/8 truggy...

What would y'all do, other than start with the batteries with 4mm bullet sockets built in? (Them just look like a problem waiting to happen to me, but to each his own?

SMC has "EC5" and "XT60" connectors. Any experience with those? They look fine, and don't slip over the battery wire, avoiding my problem...

Both are good connectors. The EC-5 are 5mm, I believe, and the XT-60's are 3.5mm. I have used the XT-60's and they are a good plug. No experience with the EC-5.

I have soldered both of those connectors before and they worked fine. Guessing the batteries you got have 10ga wire and that is why they wouldnt fit your other connectors.

Just go with deans. Those connectors you have now are known to be pretty awful.

I ended up with the xt60 connectors. they look good, well made...fit snug. the guy at the hobby shop sounded like he was scared of soldering dean's connectors.

Ran the smc batteries today. They have a huge amount of punch. I couldn't ask for a better battery!
