When i catched the car i saw that all leds were flasbing and the steering was moving free and i had no input on throttle. I switched off and start it again and again all leds flashing, i looked at the receiver and the it was receiving input cause it was flashing a led.
So i dont know what is happening, need to try another receiver, but im asking it here because maybe had the same problem.
Thanks
Where you noticing it going out when you turned the wheels? Or just in general? How many amp is your Esc set to send to reciever?

Ah sorry.

In general settings like "Motor type" and "Min Throttle" for example aren't quite understood so guys just start jabbing in numbers lol.

So take a look at a few of the team driver setups. You'll start seeing patterns on certain settings. Current limiter for example. Most run 70 or so but some run as low as 50. This helps smooth out the throttle.

There are great guides we have posted on our website and some "walk throughs" in the hotwire with pop up bubbles that explain the settings.

I'm trying to set up my RX8 with hotwire. I'm running it off my android, because I have a macbook (Just got rid of my PC a month ago...).

It all seems simple enough once I got it to connect, but I got an error message saying that the firmware on my ESC is not compatible with the version of Hotwire I download.

So since I don't have a PC, is there a way to do a firmware upgrade through my android? The app told me to use a PC, and I don't see an option to update firmware from my android. It seems like an obvious feature to include.

Just wondering. I can probably borrow the use of a friend's computer at some point, but I'd like to be able to "just" do it myself, ya' know?

(btw RX8 and pro4 hd 4300 rocks. I spent last summer trying to get my truck under control, but I could never get consistent. I just didn't have any control, no finess. (I have a slash 4x4 lcg.) Now it's like the truck is in slow motion, and I can do whatever I want. I have complete control in the corners at low speeds...but there are a few things I still want to adjust, hence the hotwire post...)
Sorry, you must use a PC to upgrade software. You can use parallels or other Virtual machines to load up the HOtwire on your mac.

I can't get the wire flat enough to go into the posts despite using a pair of pliers and a lot of force.

The strength is good but the colour worries me. The solder I'm using always cools off to give that colour though. If this isn't good enough, I might use a bigger iron. This was done with a 40w iron.
IT's not bad. But if you do the "Squeeze" trick in my video, that wire would be all the way down into the slot.

Any idea what I can try? I'm using a 4pls, this is my first brushless system and rc car in 10 years so im not really sure what I should be trying

Thanks.
Trim your throttle to 0. Re do your radio calibration.

Go into the data log while hooked to the esc, you'll see "Graph" which will drop down showing you the streams. Choose which ones, etc.

If we're flashing all led's, we're not getting a radio signal. Since you also lost steering it sounds like a radio issue...

Glad to say the new hotwire software update works PERFECT on my Galaxy S4! Good work guys!

Sad news is, horrible first day of the season. Post on my old RX8 came out and my RX8 gen2 had a wire break rounding the corner entering the last lap and of course when I was in the lead...

Guess it's time to look at upgrading the RX8. Not sure it's worth the time trying to fix it other than using the trade in program.

Thanks for the reply, my throttle trim is already on 0 when I calibrated, I didnt need to change it. Anyway, I tried calibrating again and same problem.

Ebay and Amazon are great choices.

On a Futaba make sure your throttle channel is reversed, epa's set to 100/100. Then radio calibrate.

If you still have an issue there. Make sure your NW is set to at least 10.

I'm running a RX8 Gen2 whith a 4300hd in a pro 4 short course. I ran about 3 laps today and it stopped but steering still works. When I squeeze throttle it just barely bumps forward and quits. Lights 5,6, and 7 flash. If I try reverse, lights 1,2,3 flash. Manual talks about high and low neutrals when this are flashing. I have everything set back to zero and have tried recalibrating radio and also rebinding radio to receiver. It also takes a long time to find neutral, forward, and everse when calibrating.
