Hello,
I have a Tekin T8 2250kv Truggy motor for my 8ight e 3.0. I want to drive on a outdoor astroturf track in Germany.
Which gearing do you recommend for this motor ?

Default Push?

Kit setup.. 5 7 5 diffs. Car was pushing more this week than last. Same everything from tires to track. Conditions were a little drier this week from nitro running previous day. First change was installing 0 pills in front end. Not much difference. I reduced front droop from 114.5. To 112.5. A little better. Lastly dropped rear diff from 5 to 3k. No more push but can't get back into throttle on exit because rear is loose now. Is there a happy medium ? On the good side is I bumped from b to start last in the a and ran mid pack for whole main with guys usually a lot faster than me. I love the car. Any suggestions? Small to med indoor track med traction.

Try 2.3 front and 2.5 rear swat bars. 103.5 front droop and 114 rear droop. Go back to 5 in rear diff. Need green rear springs too. Put 1's up in front pin holder and 1's down in rear pill holder for front end.

Hi all,
I'm ready to spend some money and need help spending it!!!

1st on the list is
1/8 8IGHT-E 3.0 Race Buggy Kit

2nd on the list is
[B]Castle Creations Mamba Monster 2 with NC1515-2200kV motor combo

Is there anything else I should be looking at, I've played with Mamba's for a very long time and am very happy with them.I'm not into track racing I just like to drive on the street out the front of my house and sometimes do speed runs.
I'm planing to run a SPC 3s 6500mah 11.1v battery and/or two SPC 3s 6500mha 11.1v in series to give me 6s 6500mah 22.2v.???
What size pinion should I get???
I'd like to know must I run a external BEC with 6s???
Also i'd like to know what servo would work well with this set-up???keeping in mind i'm trying not to run an external BEC.

3rd on the list is
A brand new Radio System (controller/receiver/servo).
I've been looking at the,
Futaba 4PLS 4-Channel 2.4GHz S-FHSS Telemetry Radio/ R304SB 4-Channel Telemetry Receiver.
and while I'm buying that i'll also get the
Temperature Sensor(SBS-01T)
I like the idea of this, knowing the motor temperature just by looking down at your radio just seems to easy and and hopefully stop before cooking
Also i'd like to know what servo would work well with this set-up???keeping in mind i'm trying not to run an external BEC.

Some other things I was thinking of buying are
Losi plastic spur gears:
43t
44t
45t
Castle Creations mod-1 pinion gears
15t
17t
19t and maybe higher for speed runs

Losi Race Wrench: US 4 pc Set LOSA99104

Is this a decent list???
Is there something I've missed???
Is there any recommendations???

We can only give you advice for racing as nobody we know has this incredible race car as a basher. Adapt to bashing accordingly.

I would advise getting the Tekin 1900 motor/ESC combo as listed in my signature. Use it with a 15/45 or 13/43. It is THE magic combination, and is what most people seem so run now. You can get a great deal on the combo. You dont need an external BEC as it does 7.4v

Dont bother with the temp sensors and temps aren't an issue with this combo.

Radio is your preference, but do your research first. My guys and myself run the new Spektrum DX4R, and it is awesome. Comes with great receivers.

Savox makes great servos for the money. I run the 7.4v brushless on mine. Coreless are perfectly fine. Try to get 300+ on the torque, and between .10 and .15 on the speed. Amain house brands are great for the money as well.

You will need 4s batteries with decent Mah and C ratings. For racing, 3s and 6s are not applicable.

theres not much more of a risk running 6s compared to 4s

only better run times, cooler temps all round and longer lasting lipos..

go with the 1350/1400kv tekin combo with 6s...you can't go wrong!

Where do you measure your droop from? Top of cap or top of shock body?

Droop on tlr/Losi vehicles is measured from the centre of the top shock mounting screw to the centre of the bottom shock mounting screw with the chassis on a stand and the wheels hanging off the ground.

Ok so after reading the first page it's apparent that this thread serves a dual purpose for both the true kit and the conversions (like it was originally). I ordered my 3.0 today and was wondering about any build tips i should know. I've built the 3.0 nitro but i was wondering there was any special tricks you guys do to the E version. All the 3.0's i've seen in person seem to have really heavily dampened front shocks. Should i start off 5wt lower than what the manual reccomends or should i leave it stock? Also i heard there was video out there by a team driver showing how to condition the ball links so they do not bind. A link would be appreciated. My setup will be tekin 1900 gen 2, hobbywing sct-pro, smc 5000 50C packs (worked fantastic in e-truggy) and a futaba S9352HV servo. Can't wait to get this thing. Thanks.

Can you give me advice if I wanted it to try and do 100mph or over on the road for speed runs what Tekin combo and what gearing i'd need has anyone done this and is it possible???
Most of my driving will be on road.
