SC10 4x4 Thread
Maybe they had misspelled something in the link?

Been too long since I ran this truck, forgot... but that's a common motor wind so someone will have a suggestion soon I'm sure.

I had the same problem with a Tekin manual, no matter how many times I clicked it, it would not take me to the trouble shooting section.

pretty new. and well ive been running at a local carpet track. And in the tighter turns im having a hard time powering through the turns. more like out of the turn. i want to accelerate mid way in the turn and out. and the car wants me to wait longer out of the turn. if any of this makes any sense. is there something i should be adjusting to fix this.
And whats up with v3 slipper mod, that in the last couple pages ive read a little about. but still unsure if its a upgrade from a vts slipper? and is slip the issue im having?

Few things off the top of my head:
- Disassembly is very involved. Getting to the servo for example involves taking apart a significant portion of the vehicle. Same with getting to the diffs.
- diffs not as sealed as they should be
- Vehicle is very rear biased. this can cause odd handling oddities
- Very little airflow to motor based on layout, so temps are more
- Rotation of motor relative to drivetrain causes issues with having proper in-air pitch control. So in comparison to other vehicles, you can't easily drop the nose or bring it up like a traditional 3 diff design vehicle
- Out of the box has no center diff option from AE, just a slipper pad setup
- No rear toe block options for more or less toe like other AE vehicles. This can make a world of difference in traction seen on low traction surfaces
- Doesn't appear to have the attention of AE like other vehicles, and has a lack of setups relative to loose traction conditions where the vehicle has come across as lacking.
The aftermarket has provided very nice solutions to a lot of the issues, with big benefits seen from M2C, RC Shox, and Exotek to name a few. Probably the last one to be worked would be in air attitude control. A counter gear setup like what RC Shox tried and what Shark413 has made seems to be very promising.

So the exotek front clutch lock plate strait up locks my front right?
If thats the case the ball diff is looking like a better option for me. kinda seems like the lock plate is more one the bashing tip, and the rx ball diff ris for someone looking to win? or should i just leave the vts slipper. and keep tuning?

Many people are confused about the Exotek "front locker". It is installed on the slipper assembly eliminating the slipper pad for the front wheels. Now any adjustment of your slipper only effects the rear wheels. It by no means "locks" the front diff. I installed one on my truck, as did my friend, and ran 30k in the front diff and 7k in the rear running on a low traction, "real dirt", 1/8 scale track. The truck squared up and accelerated better out of the corners and braked much better. I paired this with RCShox Garodiscs for the remaining slipper pads. However, I plan on upgrading this truck from backup to give it more time on the track (my Tekno is still my best girl, but I do really enjoy the Associated). and I plan on getting the newest c-diff from RCShox so the Exotek piece will no longer matter. Bottom line, if you run the stock slipper assembly, the Exotek locked front clutch piece is a great improvement over the odd slipper setup on the truck and will help the truck brake harder and later, and accelerate out of the corners with more ferocity.

I'd assume something is in the works, just because its been a while since the sc10 first came out. It's also terrible to work on. I have yet to take mine apart, the only thing I've done is shock maintenance. I'm not holding my breath on a new one however, lost interest in the class.
