did you order this from Tekno direct?

When you called tekno to send you out the right shims, what did they say?

Cain, I agree with you. With Tekno knowingly having an issue with diff cases, they have every right to ask for them to be shipped back. Under the intention of studying the reason for failure. The issue is as you stated above, you can't expect someone to spend more money on a product that they already paid to have shipped once. The product is bad. Send the correct one which should have been in the kit to begin with.

I read this forum from start to finish before selling all things Durango ( Because of pathetic after sales service ) and buying 2 ET48s hoping all the previously mentioned problems with diff shimmers and the rear diff housing breakages would be fixed by now as promised by the Tekno rep that regularly comments here.
Very deflated to find the diff shimmers are still the same in my new kits as the failed ones in the earlier kits !! Just hoping the diff cases are the upgrades and not the faulty ones as well !! Lucky I read the thread and purchased correct shims with the car !! Disappointed much !!!
In Tekno's defense they have stated several times that all of the kits out there now still have the bad shims. They have not received the second batch of kits that will have the updated parts included.

stuff like that happens with new products. As a first run buyer, it something to be expected in my opinion.

Main thing is the company gets on the issue fast, and solves it. No "Losi Diff Pin Waiting".

Exactly. That's why I have been patiently waiting for the bugs to get worked out before I jump on this truck. I'll probably wait until after summer to get one.

I couldn't agree more, Tekno's rc's are the best! Big deal if there're a few minor problems with the first batch. Something that should be expected. I've dealt with a other rc companies with warranty issues and Tekno makes problems go away without trying to blame the customer.

I purchased them from Amain ( Their last 2 kits ) along with $300 in parts because in an earlier thread it was stated that all new kits would have this issue solved !! I contacted Tekno but as I'm in Australia and had bought the correct shims in anticipation of this happening, I'm not getting replacements as I have to pay freight !! Guess Im stuck with what I've got now, buyer beware

Question : Ive bought the replacement diff TKR5016B and bearings, are they stronger than stock ??

I just hope that when they fix the kits up they also supply the upgraded parts for all of us that have spent a fortune already buying their products.

I agree no big deal. I still love my Tekno's. We all know that each first run of any kit WILL have problems. I knowingly bought into it. I just ask it to be fixed on their dime, not mine.

Hello,
The ET kits that are out there for sale right now all need the replacement shims, we have yet to receive our second batch of kits. That batch will have the correct shims with a non-problematic TKR5016B.

We will send you shims without a problem wherever you live, I think you must have misunderstood our email conversation. If you need the correct TKR5145 shims please contact us Via email ([email protected]).

As for those that concerned about the out-drives being defective, we have looked into it with great detail and they are of the exact hardness as the EB, NB, and NT. We believe it is an isolated issue, and the wear is based on your driving habits combined with your running conditions and electronic's setup.

Based on the wear on my outdrives in the short amount of time I believe the hardness of the outdrives doesn't hold up well at all with your truggy. See the cars in my signature. I use all those at the same track with the same motors, ESC's etc and NONE of them including the 5-6 Teknos have remotely the amount of wear as on the Tekno truggy. I was a pretty big Tekno fan boy until recently but I have found much more durable cars. I like the Teknos don't get me wrong but the parts durability isn't quite as good as some other manufacturers.
