There is a descrepancy between manuals on the LST. The Mach 26 sheet says the high end should be 3 1/2 turns out, but the LST manual (at least mine) says 2 1/2 turns out. I split the difference and started at 3, but I ended up around 2 3/4 turns.
On the low end, I found that 2 turns out was too lean, and ended up going 2 1/2 turns out before I could get mine to idle. the low end screw sits flush with the thottle slide housing now. It might be a little too rich, but it worked and that's where I left it.
Of course temperatures and humidity will make a difference with all of these settings, but I think 3 1/2 turns out is too rich.

Ok, so I've got 12 tanks run through my LST, so it's time to make some adjustments.
First on the list is swapping out those sorry clutch shoes for some aluminum ones with more bite. I'm tired of redlining before it moves. Might go a tick lighter on the springs as well for quicker engagement. Stay tuned.....
Next I'll tighten the 2-speed and try to get a little more action out of 1st gear. Right now it shifts so early you'd think it's not shifting at all. I have to go slow to hear it shift. I'm shooting for something mid-power band. 1/2 turn at a time, as they recommend.
Also going to get the secondary gear cover. Ordered that aluminum one everyone is talking about from Iratecustoms on ebay. I took a quick look at my gears and they're already getting chewed.
Last, I'm gonna replace that gas tank with the larger capacity one. Anyone done that yet? How much more run time do you get? If it fills in that void for the worthless AA batteries, I'll be happy.

After todays bashing session DIFF getting a Secondary Gear cover nuttin torn up YET but had a lot of trash in there
the full tank I would leave alone in my opinion just for the fact that I like having the extra battery under the tank I run a 1200 hump pack under the tank and a 1200 flat pack under the truck and have to have a dead run-Maybe a larger tank if it still sat up off the truck
the clutch shoe is a diff mine revs to high before engaging three shoe alum is what Im thinking
The 2 speed on mine drops way to early also almost like 1/8 trottle WAY to soon in my opinion Iam working on that today
The LOSI factory settings are wrong for the carb per Losi and Dynomite maybe not wrong but off I run mine about 3 1/18 out and 2 1/16 out and it runs about 189 and if I'm running it like I did today it ran up to 232 which is not bad after 6 tanks
The only prob I'm having is the braking it just started today when I hit the brake it slows down then stops BUt during it clicks REAL bad like a gear grabing but I have to look in to that
Has anyone run the Zombies from Losi on the LST or will they even fit just wondering if so let me know thanks guys and gals

The aluminum clutch shoes work awesome! I went with the Ofna medium (purple) shoes with the black Ofna springs (light ones), and the clutch engages just when I'd expect it to.....when I first give it some gas. It doesn't creep or crawl at all either on idle.
I tightened the 2-speed 1 turn each screw and it's a lot better now. I don't have to work so hard to hear it shift. I'd like to go a little more to get more into the mid-band, but I'll hold off until I get the secondary gear cover installed.
The "slip" came back again today. I watched the gears move and the clutch do exactly what it's supposed to do, so it appears to be in the internal gearbox. I eliminated it by stopping, putting it into reverse, then putting it back into forward. I thought the shift servo was positively engaging, but I'll advance the endpoints a little more and see if that helps. Oh well.....more wrenching time for me I guess.

Hey. Yeah the Zombies fit man. Look at the new issue of Extreme RC and they have a story and all the info about DRAKES LST!!!! He is running the stock wheels with the Zombie Tires. Thats what he is using to race, along with the gear protecter, and all new Titanium Nitrade Gears(gold color)!! They look sick! He is also running the alluminum adjustable shock bodies from Losi with the original springs. He has a sway bar kit, bigger tank, and the 2.4 ghz Spectrum system. Wich by the way LOOKS SICK!! He is still using the stock radio, i think, almost positive on that one. He also runs the stock shoes with 1.0 springs.I think thats it? If I missed something it is not anything big and not more then 1 or 2 more things? Though i am sure thats it?
Anway I LOVE THE LST!!! Its just SOOOOO KILLER! My neighbor has the MGT and it is cool but the LST PEEEES on it! I mean i cant beleive I was even thinking about getting the MGT now that i see one compared to the LST? I mean its way faster, cooler looking, and all round better? The only cool thing on the MGT is the shaft/pull start system? Hey and cant forget them SHOCKS!!!!!
Well i also was wondering if anyone has gotten those Hot Racing or whatever adjustable blue anodized shock bodies from ebay? I am thinking of getting them? I cant wait any longer for the Integy guys to get the LST stuff out there for purchase? I mean COME ON INTEGY!!!!! They have been advertising all the options for the LST in mags for about 3 months now! I CANT WAIT to get them shocks! Man they are the sickest thing EVER! Though they might put unwanted weight high in the truck because of those mammouth resevoirs?
Anyway the only probs I have with the LST are as follows:
The 2 speed shifting thing?
The CRAP PLASTICS for the shocks that break all the time on me!
The clutch you need to redline to move!
And thats about it?
Besides that the LST is the BEST truck out there! I mean is that MACH .26 not the sickest RTR engine out or what! I cant imagine much more power in that truck! Though as soon s the engine is going and maybe before if I can spare the cash i am gonna get the TOP NOva .28, or the RB .28 or even the Collari .30? COULD YOU IMAGINE the speed and power with those! Though before that i will be getting the silver Integy shocks, shock towers, Carbon Fiber or alluminum radio tray, Side braces, bulkheads, and suspension! OH MAN WOULD THE LST BE TOTALLY SICK with a tricked out Integy conversion!!!!! Anyway
PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF ANY OF YOU HAVE TRIED OUT THOSE ALLUMINUM BLUE ANODIZED THREADED SHOCK BODIES FROM EBAY FOR $54.00 a set?

Well I just got pledged into the broken axle club. The sad thing is I didn't think it was that bad of a landing, and only about 1' off the ground. The CVD cup cracked in half. I had a replacement handy, but I ran out of time.
It was fun while it lasted though, as I totally blew my buddy's T-Maxx away. Off the line, top end, rolling start.......it didn't matter. The LST also handled much better. My only problem was pulling wheelies from a 20mph roll. The new aluminum shoes have some serious BITE.
Has anyone tried the MIP CVDs to see if they are any stronger? I've had good luck with MIP products in the past, but wanted some feedback before I dropped $50+ on a pair.

Wow I got a truck in the 4k # and it is a awesome truck. I did the sickest jumps and catwalks.
The carb setting will vary depending on the atmospheric condistion and humidity and sea level.
Front a-arm $2.50
Front Diff Case $9.95
Sickest Catwalk across the yard PRICELESS

My truck gets stronger every time I run it. I totally tore up my stock body though. I put it back together with some shoe goo, but it didn't last more than a few wheelies. So a Crowd Pleazer was quickly painted up to replace the ragged stocker.
Tomorrow night we're doing the Rolling Thunder Monster Truck show. We made a nice 3 foot ramp that's perfect for pulling off some slow-motion back flips. I can hit it about 9 times out of 10. Hope the crowd doesn't spook me! If the Moto-X ramp is out of harm's way, I'm sure I'll be hitting it too. Maybe I can pull a double, or even a triple!
Someone out there posted about their LST making a popping sound when braking. Mine did it since the day I bought it, and I finally figured out what was happening. The front diff case was cracked, and the pinion was hopping on the ring gear under braking. Aluminum diff cases......Problem solved!
I'm experimenting with the MIP CVDs in the back. So far, so good. The only problem is they are both right hand tight, so the left sides will back off on you if you aren't careful. Threadlock is a must.
I was reluctant to get another nitro truck after my GT days of getting less than a gallon through the small blocks, but this LST has changed my mind. BIG BLOCKS RULE!
