Lst?
My wife bought one for Christmas just ? what everyones opinion is on it thanks guys and have a Merry Christmas
|
I think so highly of the platform I bought 2 of them :D
First upgrade you should consider is a secondary gear cover, either from ebay for the aluminum one or Losi's $5 plastic one.Either way you need to close off the back and bottom of the gear cover to avoid rocks chewing up your gears. Depending on how hard you intend on using it and what model# you have you should buy a spare set of cvd's and a-arms.I mentioned model # because they upgraded the axles and cvd's somwhere around kit #8000 as well as the clutch springs and a couple other niggling things and I have yet to break any of the upgraded ones |
Parts
Well I already found out that the Front arms DONT hold well ,,or its that 20' jump that it landed wrong I NEED to find front arms and cant any help would be nice also has anyone had any trouble with the 2nd gear I dont think mine is hitting 2nd ,,,thanks guys later

Used to own #339, never had any probs with the cvds or axles. Only broke 1 arm and that was from hitting the wall at wot. Broke 2 tranny output shafts that was pretty lame if you ask me. I ended up selling it and got a revo. Have yet to break one thing and has won more races than my LST ever did. I liked the LST but I just think its too brittle and always have to be careful not to break anything.
My revo I just beat the snot out of it and it keeps chugging away. |
Come on guys I find it hard to believe that no one has bought a LST ,I think its WAY better than the MGT and the Revo ,,,,,,;)
|
I have owned all those RC's and currently own a revo. When I sold my MGT and bought the LST I was very disappointed in the LST. I think that the MGT is a very good truck and holds its own very well against the LST. I race a Revo now and my lap times are quicker with the Revo than they ever where with the LST. Dont get me wrong I loved my LST when I had it but it simply isnt the best truck out there. The first RC I bought I made a mistake by buying the Traxxas Tmaxx instead of the savage. I didnt want to make that mistake again so I bought the LST when it came out. Well I was wrong again and this time traxxas got it right with the Revo.

I gotta agree the Revos a nice truck.I had one for a short while ....about 2 hours and a friend bought it from me before I ever started it up the first time.I already had the LST so figured why not (suck another unknowing victim into this moneypi.... errr hobby :weird: ) He went through 2 piston and sleeve sets (due to lean conditions from......) 2 gas tank o-ring kits, differential gears, and broken tranny gears..I've put almost 4 gallons through my LST in the time he's had that truck and he's only this last weekend got it to run right ....finally.
To be fair I've broken probably every one of my original cvd's in my LST one way or another (my only real complaint about the truck) but I've replaced 3 of the 4 with the updated ones and have yet to break a single one and I am pretty hard on my truck. I do have another friend with a Revo that's been an absolute breeze to run, nothing broken yet at about 1/2 gallon and runs strong.........a short but ever growing distance behind my LST (which he's nicked "the bully " btw :D ) Peace  |
After debating between an LST, Revo, and an TNX for about two months, I finally dropped the bills on an LST because I liked the idea of a big block being more durable over time. I run my stuff HARD, and needed something that would withstand my abuse. I hope the later LSTs can handle it like you say.
I've been running my LST for a little over a week now. No breaks yet, but I've got a spare set of axles in the box just in case. My 2-speed shifts VERY early, so I had to do a slow roll out to verify it was in fact shifting. I think I'll adjust it to shift about midway up the power band and see if I like that better. I'm on tank #9 (about 1/2 gallon) and the engine is running strong and around 200 degrees, but I noticed a potential drivetrain problem as I was about to shut it down this afternoon. It revs up with no movement, then "pops" into gear and moves. Not sure what that's about, but I'm thinking either the FWD/REV isn't shifting properly or my clutch may be slipping. Has anyone had a similar problem? Speaking of the clutch, have many people out there swapped their shoes for the aluminum ones? I don't care for how much you've got to rev the engine before it moves, and heard from other posts that the aluminum shoes may improve that. |
maybe broken springs on your shoes?
mine kept creeping forward and my springs were all gone |
OKay what bodys will fit the LST and does anyone know if their is a company that makes a Roll Cage for the LST yet ,,,thanks guys
|
I've seen several "coming soon" messages on the roll cage, but nothing firm yet.
As far as bodies, I plan to mount a Proline Crowd Pleazer 2.0 on mine. I hope it works. I know Pro-line makes several for the MGT/LST/TNX size monsters, but getting them to fit is another story. |
I love my lst also, revo are only in the way!!!

LST bodies
The olny prob i have with the lst bodies is that cover on the tranny all the bodies i try are to narrow to fit right .
 But on a good note I have both a revo and this lst as of right now the revo is broke and the lst has'nt broke a thing the olny bad thing is the tank is to small they need to ship the full tank with the kits and just elimanate that batt. holder under it All in all i like both trucks very well . |
LST CARB SETTINGS PLEASE!!!
Hey Fellas. I have the LST and must say it is a SICK TRUCK!!! My neighbor has thr MGT and I smoke it in every aspect! The ONLY thing I like better about the MGT is the Pull/Saft Start system? But i would NEVER get it over the LST because of that!
Anyway i have some probs with my Mach .26 running right? When i set it to the stock carb settings Hi 3 1/2 Out. Low 2 OUt, I have a hard time keeping it running and revving it up? VER VERY VERY SLUGGISH!!! The only way it even runs really good is at around: Hi 2 1/2-3/4 Out and Low 1 1/4-1/2 Out? Now I dont know if that is running it to lean or what? PLEASE PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU GUYS ARE RUNING YOUR CARB SETTINGS AT!!!!! Just POST THEM HERE! You would seriously be doing me a huge favor! |
