14t-16t is ideal w/ 1350kv on 6s depending what track you are on and the way you want it to feel (racing). That is pushing it w/ a 1550, on 6s 12t,13t would be ideal.
Yup on 5s the 1550 is a good choice, good range of gearing options.

It will not fit. If you try to run it horizontally it will hit the brace. if you run it paralle with the chassis it will hit the motor. The only way to do it would be to mount it on its side parallel with the chassis. I run mine in my mbx6t but there are not nearly as many size restrictions. Sorry if the orientations were described poorly.

JConcepts unfortunately has no plan to any time soon. Already checked. I put the word in their ear though.
As for getting by with the stock body...
Use Gorilla Tape, Drywall Tape, Shoe goo, etc.
I focused heavily on reinforcing the hood and roof area as well as body mount locations. I have only one weekend on the body, (Friday practice all day, Saturday Qualifying, Sunday Mains) and it took a few hard wrecks. The body is holding up okay so far. I actually placed about a millimeter of foam on the front shock tower to cushion it a bit, rather than having straight aluminum hit the body.
