OK Thanks. Thats about where I thought should start for blinky based on what gearing I use with a D3.5. But, for boosted, I was going to run 0* timing on the can, about 40* on the esc, and drop the equivalent about 5 teeth on the pinion. Does that sound about right?

26* of motor end bell timing is included on the SMC 17.5 motor. That is, "if the screw is touching the plate where the L is marked the motor timing is set to 26 degrees. If it touches the H this is 60 degrees. In the middle is 43 degrees."

I did some testing with the SMC 17.5 motor at an indoor carpet track this weekend and the motor performed well. I was only 1 sec behind the local fast guy. I used the same gearing as with my D3.5, 35* of motor end bell timing and zero esc timing. The motor ran a lil hot after 6 mins so I reduced the motor end bell timing to 26* and the motor temps were acceptable. I plan on doing some more testing this week and an outdoor track.

I've been running my SMC 6500 65C for about 10 race days now. When I try to balance charge it, my charger (Hyperion 0606) says that the balance voltage is too low. Yet I can not balance charge to 8.4V every time. I set my LVC to 3.2V per cell, so I don't believe I ran the battery too low. Do you guys think the balance port is disconnected from the battery?

Try charging it out of balance mode for a min or two then stop it and try again. It could also be the balance board for the charger.

Danny says he has 7200s coming in by Thursday of this week. For Square packs and saddle packs he says he is not 100% sure but it should be in the next few weeks I hope. As usual Chinese New Year vacation really messes up things in China so he is waiting on a ship date from the factory.

It is not the balancing board on my charger, I can still balance charge my other 2S and 4S batteries without issue. I will try what you suggested though, thanks.
