I ended up getting this OS motor from a friend and the pullstart screws are stuck. Its also missing 4 screws on the part that the pullstart attaches to.

This whole assembly minus the pullstart would be nice if anyone could Identify them. I have been searching around and only found "crankcase cover".

That's quite an old engine you got there so I'd imagine spares will be difficult. It looks like the screws have sheared off into the crankcase? I'd imagine that you'll need to trawl the is engines website to find the manual and parts list and go from there. The engine also looks pretty mucky inside and to be honest may not be worth spending money on. There are plenty of cheap replacements on the market these days.

I actually had it running yesterday but it seemed pretty unsafe to just have the end of the motor freely to fall off. I took it to a local parts store and they said about $10-$15 for whatever part it was but didn't mention the name. I figured if anyone knew what it was I could find it online for a cheaper cost.

edit: No the screws just are not in the crankcase :P the picture looks like they're still there though.

10-15 bucks where nitro engines are concerned is nothing really and so I'd go with the hobby store if they have or can get the bits. I'm surprised it ran without the backplate being properly sealed!

Ah the old .12 CVR-X. I had the 12 and the 15. Yeah what you want is called the backplate, unless the screws are sheared off in the crankcase like dan said, in which case you WILL need a new one. Good motors, but yeah they are coming up on 15 years old and counting.

Thank you! Does $10 seem kind of steep for that part? Quickly browsing I didn't find it online but I figured its easier just to purchase the part locally, faster too.

Well I suppose I may have to run back out to the hobby shop and get that part. Would love to see the little motor chugging along perfectly.

Ten bucks is cheap for a lot of things in this hobby, dunno if youre new to it but things can get a bit steep REAL FAST
