Has anyone tried the Trackstar 550 motor and Hobbywing or Trackstar esc? Been using a Castle 3800 system so far. Want to try an affordable sensored system.
Thanks for any help.

I personally have ran Combos: SCT-PRO-C1 (4700KV Version) & SCT-PRO-C2 (4000KV Version)
The performance of either combo is amazing!
The 4700 version is a bit much for the SC10 4x4 unless you are on a big outdoor track, other wise I would go with the 4000KV combo.
Good Luck!

I'm getting a high pitched squeal when I punch it. It's not there when I am driving at a constant speed but when I really goose it on the straightaway it does it. It doesn't do it when it isn't under a load either. On a stand with the wheels free it's fine.
I thought maybe it was the belt in the front but it sounds more in the rear. I checked the spur and the pinion and both seem fine. The motor is nice and tight.
It could be the motor, but I can't think of what that would be.
Any suggestions?

Probably the best in my opinion would be the outerwears filter for the sc10 4x4. I don't see why it wouldn't work as its not a hard lexan material, but repels water and dirt, but lets the chassis "breathe". i really enjoyed mine for what it is when I had it. pricey, but I felt worth the money.

It's not constant. As soon as you lay off the gas, even the littlest bit, it's gone.
Slipper issue? Could be that under power the slipper is slipping too much causing the sound and when you lay off the throttle the slipping/sound stops? Are using a VTS, original or aftermarket slipper?
Sounds like the diff is slipping under high loads. Can't think of anything on that truck that might make a sound like that other than a ball diff that's slipping.
Are the spring coils kissing? I think in a previous post you said they were but didnt go back to look, sorry.
Maybe a new spring, especially if you have the older spring and not the vts spring. Even if you have the more HD vts spring, they fatigue over time.
Do you have at least 6 pins? Sorry, again didn't scroll back a page or two.

Here is my RCShox center diff, note how compressed the spring is. Please ignore the stripped spur the topshaft bearings blew out and caused a bunch of slop that ended with a stripped spur.

Another view of the center diff and spring.
Yeah I ran the 5.5 turn version of that motor with the TrackStar 120A sensorless esc and it was a great combo. But the can was soft and I ended up stripping the mounting holes (all 6 of them). I bought a sensorless Tenshock 4400kv to finish the outdoor season and was very pleased with it's performance as well. When I started running indoors in October I bought the TrackStar 120A turbo esc and the TrackStar 540 4 pole (4250kv). It lightened up the rear end of truck considerably and it's more powerful than necessary for a tight indoor track.

I'll check it out. The first thing I thought to look at was the front. I can't remember if I opened up the center. I believe I only have 4 pins in it. My friend built it and got the diff for it then sold it to me to get a Losi. I'm still learning it.
Check the spring setting first. If its cranked down like sharks pic, you may need to tear into it.
I would pick up the newer vts spring if that's not what your friend has in there, that alone could be it.
Below is a walk through on assembly, black grease for the thrust bearing and regular diff grease for the balls. 6 pin is the most common for a track with good traction. Low traction 4 pins would be good.
I ran 6 or 8, 8 if traction was really good that day.
