Great, thanks. It has a metal 48 on it right now (just picked it up used) and its a little worn, so I just want to put a fresh one on it.

You're welcome. I have a 48 but I would need to raise it up or it would hit the chassis. I just used the 45.

Does anyone run a 2s setup on their 8ight? Just curious since the e-buggy lite is starting to take off. I have an 8ight-e 2.0 that is still practically new but has a 4s setup in it. Thanks in advance.

I drove with a guy attempting it yesterday. He was running a large motor fan and swelled a battery before he left because he ran longer then 6 minutes. Looked like a castle 4 pole motor. Temps where in the 80's so I'm sure that didn't help. But it doesn't seem worth it on a heavier buggy. Even on my 810e it ran hot unless it was on 3s .

That's what I figured would be the outcome. I think I'll just keep it on 4s then. I have an SCTE that I've been debating on converting to a lite 8th scale.

What is the best body to run on the 2.0 as far as battery clearance and venting?

I'm running a Tekin Pro-4 HD 4300kv on 2s on my 8IGHT-E 2.0

6500.mah runs about 10 minutes.

Usually run an 11 or 12t pinion, depending on the track.

45t spur.

Highest temperature I've seen is 171 on the motor & 105 on the battery. 65 degrees air temperature at time of racing.

The silver colored block you see in the first picture is a spacer I made out of cardboard and duct tape. I didn't bother with putting shorter battery straps on since I'll be going back to 4s when the outdoor tracks open back up in my area.

The Pro-4 HD 4300kv seems to be a bit much for the smaller indoor tracks I'm currently running. I'd probably suggest the Pro-4 HD 3500kv for indoor.

I'm very happy with my bulldog, but it doens't vent nearly as well as my 2.0 nitro body with the giant hole in the front

Great info, thanks. Do you know what your running weight is by any chance? Do any lightening mods?

My bathroom scale shows 7.4 lbs with the 2s battery in the car . I haven't had a chance to get it on a good scale yet.

No lightening modifications made. All box stock components that the race roller came with from Losi.

Just to let you know, this past Saturday was my first race with it. I came in 2nd place 0.5 seconds behind a Losi 8IGHT-E 3.0 that was running a Tekin T8 Gen2 1400kv on 4s. I'll go back and take 1st next time !

I've edited my 1st post #8797 on the subject of 2s 8th scale buggy. There is additional information noted.

Also, the stock Losi 8IGHT-E 2.0 body has the best ventilation for electronics that I have found.

I'm going to test it out on 2S this weekend. I have a Hobbywing 4000kv SCT motor that I use in my SCTE that I'll drop in. The 4s power is just too much for me on the track.

Something I've noticed on 2s systems pushing a high kv motor on 4x4 vehicles (SCT & 8TH scale buggies), is they seem to melt Deans connectors.

Some people like to fix this problem by using EC5 connectors.

I prefer to use a 4mm male bullet directly on the end of the positive & negative power wires on the ESC & plug them directly into the battery.

This eliminates un-needed connections & seems to be very efficient.

My wires & connections never get above 110 degrees.

Check out the photo.

Just curious, why would you guys want to put 3.0 drive shafts in the 2.0 ?

I bought my 2.0 from a very competitive racer that ran it for 2 years. It still has all the original out drives & shafts in the car. They're in great shape. Plus, TLR makes hardened / lightened out drives for the 2.0 .

I'm not trying to be critical. Just curious.
