practiced yesterday and it was horrible, 15,000 slashes destroying buggies and we were blessed with 3 watering breaks in 6 hrs. would have had a more productive practice session in my back yard.

Thanks Scott, appreciate it and you're very welcome.....well, looks like a few of these will be in mod classes at SmacTrac soon enough! The car that had the turnigy esc was also the fastest on the straightaway, belt drive k1 cat....but yeah, apparently, the esc performed flawlessly when it was ran HARD in real race conditions by a driver who is STRAPPED on the gas!

For $42 im in love.....makes it easier to build another car....my kyosho truck will have Turnigy Trackstar esc, Trackstar motor and Trackstar servo and Turnigy A spec lipos......a total budget build and see what it can take.

alright delete this thread before word gets out to everyone!!!! I dont want hobbyking raising the prices on us. My son and i plus a few other guys run the A spec shorties and saddle packs. even the zippy batteries have worked well for us. on most of the items even if you get a bad apple its still cheaper to buy the second one than buying one of the big named components, and until one of the big manufactures comes knockin to run their products ill be using Trackstar.

Anyone ever have issues with these ESC's just suddenly taking off? Car was sitting in my pit, radio and car on (was adjusting the slipper) and the thing suddenly goes full throttle. Changed ESC and problem solved. Anyone else have something similar happen? Or know where to find a manual?

manual is on the hobbyking website, just scroll down on the ESCs page and there are tabs, one says files, click on that one.

I click one of the manuals, and it's a chart on how to calibrate. The other one is for some other 8th scale sensorless esc....

Im using the $12 TGY-4409MG servo and have been for about 2 months and really really like it. .10 speed and has lasted up so far. and of course you cant go wrong with their motors and esc. I would stay away from the a-spec lipo tho and just get the regular nano tech if you are going all turnigy. I have seen multiple test where the regular nano tech performs better and last longer.
anyway I really enjoyed my budget build and it changed my outlook on electronics and hope you enjoy yours as well. btw my budget build truck is a kyosho as well lol sc-r

p.s
sorry to go off topic but the it4 touch screen radio is f-ing awesome. im in love with the thing. sold my spektrum and that is weird coming from me, I used to be a spektrum fan boy lol.

ok back to trackstar discussion

RIGHT! ive actually been genuinely worried about that for a while lol. keep it secret so they don't go all "supply&demand" on us and tripple their prices! lol. its nice beating people who have a 200+ esc and 100+batteries with my budget setup. especially when its conistantly haha
