It's hard to say, you might have done something wrong when putting everything back together. All I can suggest is taking it apart and carefully following the exploded views when putting it back together.

The stock gearing should be fine with the big joes.

Hey Josht21, there are many.. many upgrades to do to the summit I have found. I bought one this winter and have enjoyed it as stock for now.

I think the biggest question you have to ask yourself is what do you want to do with it? bash, play in the back yard, crawl , or go 105 mph with it? Upgrades all suit different driving methods. I can't link videos but there are many websites to check out for upgrades.

One I was looking at was kershawdesigns.com they have a motor upgrade that uses a dewalt 20v cordless drill motor.

Tires are personal choice, but if you search Traxxas Summit 1/10

Search Google for Traxxas Summit Tires and look at the Images page for pictures.

Servos and Shocks are also easy to upgrade, HiTec or other places have replacements for those. search Traxxas Summit Servo upgrades. Also your manual should have exploded views you can find the parts,

Use this location to find replacement parts for your summit:
goto//traxxas.com/products/models/electric/5607summit-downloads

RCTech has many posts about upgrades and builds from people "Search this form". there is also Traxxas.com for people just like you with a summit trying to learn.

YouTube is a great place to watch people talk about or show off upgrades about the Traxxas summit.

/cheers

LEM, makes them, also spider gears and some other stuff, they are a bit expensive but worth it, also they are producing new Al driveshafts.
