I cut the side of the servo mount a little the make a little more room. Even with that modification there is still very little room between the esc and motor. I would say about 3 business cards could fit between them. I also had to get the esc to be solidly mounted to the esc mount because the flex in the chassis was making the esc and motor to hit each other on big jumps and hard cornering. I got it to work but using this large of electronics is not ideal for this chassis. It was designed around using a tekin system.
Is that with the long side going lengthwise in the chassis from servo to motor?

Yes the capacitors against the servo and the wires against the motor.

The T8 2000kv is 5mm longer than the Ballistic 8. What's the full width of the Activ8? I'm guessing the 40mm Novak specs doesn't include the capacitors, which is misleading. The HW is 46.5mm wide.

I believe the 54mm is with capacitors. The motor size does not include the shaft.

Here's an EB48 with MM setup. The motor is 75.2mm (T8=76mm) and the speedo is 48.3mm (HW=46.5mm). So if published specs are correct, then the HW 150A with T8 4038 should fit in the fore/aft direction without modification.

Looks like there is just enough room for the sensor wire with a Tekin motor.

No doubt. Can't speak to other areas or tracks, but around here 1/10 buggy has gone from also ran to having their own event in maybe 3 months. I'm probably chewing on too many Tekno platforms already (just acquired NB48, and considering ?T48), but a 1/10 4wd would jump to the front of my wish list. The XB4 is a seriously nice piece of kit, but I'm sure Tekno's would be better.

FWIW - If you do it, I hope you'll consider a center diff build. I know Axial has done one in 1/10. It's small and runs like 30k oil, but belts or slipper clutches look like a PITA.

Is the battery tray same dimension as EB48? Some nice ThunderPower 6s out there, but they're like 156mm long.

Yes, same size.

Only the 25c thunderpower 4400 fit.

Dangit! I don't even have the truggy yet and just heard rumor that the track I go to may be in jeopardy of closing. Oh well, it's basher percentage just went form 5% to 50%. It's close to the house, races are on Sundays, entry fee is cheap, everyone is laid back,......this sucks.

The 249 track? Bring it out to mikes! Its one of the best tracks in the nation! Do they even race truggies at 249, the track looks pretty small for a truggy?
