For relative purposes the complete front and rear ends will work with each other...except front caster blocks (NB =15* and EB=10) and rear ring gear (offset for the NB) and rear diff case.

It sounds like you need fewer shims behind the 5x13 bearing. This will effectively extend the shaft out so there will be a little play when you tighten the screw. Alternatively, you can pick up some 3x5mm shims to place into the end bearing (effectively extending the shaft). Hope that helps.
