My track is Alabama red clay. I've got to come down to your track to see any kind of sand at all
When this clay is allowed to dry it gets hard. Think concrete that produces red dust. When the skidsteer breaks up hard stuff it comes up in huge (5'-10') chunks that will hold a person without breaking. When a new layout is put in the clay is moist, soft, squishy, & sticky. The new layout was finished with a boxblade & drug with an 18 wheeler tire. We usually just drag it with a flat skidsteer bucket & pack the corners & jumps with a walk behind whacker packer then only put water on it. It's going to be VERY interesting to see what this new surface does.
W3, is a really fun facility. They have some very good drivers. 17.5 often has A to D mains as well. Barely any tire wear, when I last ran their. I am going to be in PHX for the holiday and got a kitchen pass to hit SRS for states. My 8 year wants to go also, lol. She heard they had trophies, and that is all that is required to get her to be at the track for 8-12 hours, lol. Centro? they are taking over here in mod. No one runs them in stock though. I ran at our indoor track this pass weekend and mod was about 1/2 centros, 1/4 b4's and 1/4 22's. There were zero centros in stock, about 9 b4's and 4 22's. People seem to really like them.
if your considering running the sway bar, id say wait on that and try a gear diff with like 5k in it first, really the sway bar was just more consistent for me, it probably too a bit or traction away but we have so much traction its not noticable, the gear diff was like night and day

cool, thanks for the info. one of the guys i race with is going with and hes from arizona (Tucson actually) and he told me the same thing. Im actually gonna run 13.5 super stock with my buggy. Centro is cool and all but its unproven at our track so I dont have the huge urge to get one yet. I love my B4.2 and itll take ALOT to get me to switch to MM lol
they are running it friday, i dont know if they run it all the time though. I was put under the impression that 17.5 is tough unless you have all the crazy mods and 17.5 tricks and Mod buggy is like the fastest guys around so my best bet would be 13.5. Like dont get me wrong, I race at the expert level at 702 but ive never been to W3 and its a different type of track
if your going to be in town, you should run the sugar race, lol. Maifield normally runs the bigger local races. And they "should" have some good talent out there. Plus its the last race for SRS /sadface.
saturday. track opens at 8am, racing starts at 10am. 3 heats and a Main $20. Trophies being handed out as well. I think there is a 13.5 super stock class too.

The only issue is: I dont have tires for that track and I dont have the extra money to buy another 2-3 sets of tires. Plus I would need to buy another night in the hotel. I wish I had known about that race sooner otherwise I would have prepared and been ready lol

Bring your super soft bar type tires. Softer, more worn out, the better. And your favorite sauce doesn't hurt either.

Going to use the reedy 3300 in my b4.2, from my sc10 until I decide what motor to get. Gearing suggestions for a medium bite, medium sized indoor clay/soil track? 1 straight about 70 ft, the rest is small jumps and turns. Thanks.
I'm getting ready to mount my esc on an Avid esc shelf and run my motor wires. I have a Hobbywing V2 esc and a Hobbywing 13.5 motor. I'm not quite sure how I want to route my wires back to the motor.
Does anyone have some pics of their setup? Maybe the same or similar to what I'm running? I'm just trying to get some ideas on the best way to route the wiring.
Thanks!!
