Dave said he used a rollover antenna shaved down to fit in the shock mount hole with Shoo Goo.

You can use M3x8 set screw with our A-03-VBC-1043 antenna mount to secure it on one of the shock mount hole. http://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/016...d66cdb.jpg?962

A couple VBC questions...

Can anyone verify if the VBC center shock will accommodate typical AE/CRC center shock springs?
Is the front kingpin 3.0 or 3.3 mm in diameter?
What is the "inside" length of the front kingpin? The length of the equal signs in this Mona Lisa of a picture. (|======|

Hey AWD! Standard AE/CRC springs will not fit on the stock VBC center shock, as the ID of those springs isn't big enough to fit over the VBC shock body.

Mine measure just over 3 mm, right around 3.05-3.08 mm.

The distance from the inside of the bottom collar to the bottom of the button-head screw (at the top of the kingpin) measures right at 28.6 mm on both of my kingpins. I think this is just a hair longer than the AE kingpins (from clip to clip.)

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

All I can say about this car is WOW! I finished assembling the car yesterday morning just in time for qualifying at the Georgia On Road Championships. I qualified 2nd in the Amain behind my buddy Fernando Gordinho who was also running the lightning12. Unfortunately I was hit from behind in the first turn and my motor slipped forward. I pushed the motor back and tightened it down. After missing 5 laps I threw it back on the track and the car drove amazing. I finished 5 laps down on Fernando, had the fastest lap time with three 9.1's. If I had a better start Fernando and I would of had a blast pushing each other for the win.

I setup up the car with a tamiya touring car shock in the center with an extra long ball cup. 4wt shurlube in the link tubes, stock front springs, blue AE rear springs, 0 toe out, 1mm camber, 3.6mm ride height all around, Parma black fronts, pink rears, Viper vtx1 speedo, Trinity d3.5 13.5, Orca 6500mah, protoform amr12 body.

I have owned the xray x12, AE12r5.1, 12r5.2 and now the lightning 12... By far the best 1/12 scale I have driven.

Hey AWD,

I had a good look at a friends car yesterday. If you are looking at keeping the lightening's shock which seems really nice, Serpents s120's center shock springs look like they would fit if you were looking for more choices. I think there are 5 springs.
