fyi...

the mbx7 radio tray will fit, but you will have to drill 3 new holes for the receiver box.

center diff mount will bolt up just fine but your front brake linkage wont work.

you can use the x7 brake internals on the x6 diff mount, they are nicer imo.

front and rear diffs mount up perfect with corresponding bevel gears. center diff will mount in the x6 center diff mount but the spur gear is machined slightly different and sits further forward which changes the alignment with the clutch bell but should work just fine. i had it installed but never ran it. x6 spur is 44t, x7 is 46t. the x7 drivetrain is super smooth after broken in compared to the x6.

My first impressions on the MBX6R USA, coming off an RC8.2 w/OS Speed .21/OS 2060. I never really took a liking to the buggy(8.2), I felt as though I needed to spend a ton of cash on upgrades just to get her dialed. Dumped it, enter 6R.
The 6R came to me as a shelf queen, the car looked so good it almost could've passed as new, the set up was out of the box. I decided to run a Werks B7 Pro w/OS 2060, this thing ripped, off the bottom thru the mid, no real top end because our track is small and never got it let it out.
For the first time in nearly 6 weeks and close to a dozen trips to the track, I was contender, the 6R felt planted, hooked the corners like on rails and I never lost the rear end coming out, like so frequantly on the 8.2. Im very much impressed with the 6R as I knew I would, drove the 5 Prospec and 5T Prospec a few years back and loved em.
So glad I got the 6R I jumped on the 6E.

totally depends on the track and your driving style. id say a majority of US tracks can get a little bumpy and have larger jumps so you want a higher ride height. I set mine up with the back higher than the front so that entering a corner off power I get a bit more bite (front end) from weight transfer to the front. i think im at 29/24 right now which is a bit extreme and sometimes causes the buggy to slightly nose dive over larger jumps but thats easily correctable with the throttle.

set it up front higher than rear and youll have more rear on power traction cuz weight will transfer to the rear.

super smooth tracks w smaller jumps = lower ride height

i didnt have many compaints with mine. dirt in the battery box sucked so i installed the complete x7 radio tray $18. changed diffs to 7/10/3 for a bit more traction and will be trying 5 in the rear soon. only thing ive broken was 2 rear a arms from high flat landings and my pillow balls seem to come loose often which gives me noticable slop in my front wheels. Ive been working trying to get more steering out of it too, if i could get that id be super happy

Yea I've been experimenting lots with ride height

I've been running 25 27

I've got a modded x6 I call it a mbx6.5 r lol

I run mbx7 radio tray mbx7 diffs and centre diff
And steering standoffs
I have too much steering now it's pretty good and I do as good and better than some of the mbx7 drivers

I run 774 diff oils and run mbx7 shocks
600 front 550 rear 8x1.3 pistons

we pretty much have the same buggy, even call it the same thing lol. diffs 7/10/3 i have the center diff with the 46t spur but havent tested it yet. the strait cut gears for the front and rear really seemed to free up the drivetrain and i love the smaller receiver box. I tried installing the x7 center diff mount/brakes and it bolted up but the front brake linkage was at too much of an angle and wouldnt work. I did keep the x7 brake cams which were a little nicer design and fit perfectly in the x6.

I just ordered the front hub carrier arm mounts MUGE2117, im assuming thats what you mean by the standoffs? if not leme know what part number your talking about. I just installed the red csi pistons with losi 60/50 but havent tested them yet either, thats next. then the 46t spur and the arm mounts. got alot of testing in the near future

Na I've fitted the front hinge pin holders too so makes diff services so much quicker

I ment the alloy bits on the hubs on the 6 they are carbon fibre
On the 7 there alloy you need to adjust your tie rods

1258 is low voltage and only has 166 oz/in torque at 6v which might work ok full voltage but your gonna notice a difference when your voltage starts to drop... in a bad way... and cant be used w a lipo wo a regulator. if you already have one it wouldnt hurt to try it out.

1256tg is the high torque version, 277 oz/in @ 6v which would work great and its about the same price, but if your using a lipo it will have to be regulated.

1268sg is high torque, high voltage w 347 oz/in @ 7.4v, 208 oz/in @ 6v. a bout $20 more but you wont have to regulate a lipo if your using one.

they even make a high torque, high voltage brushless version but its noticably more expensive...

@matt ... i see your from azusa, ever hit up rev?

yesterday at work i got to thinking, got home, ditched the bce chassis and successfully mounted the x7 radio tray and center diff mount/brakes on the x6r chassis with slight modification to the front of the radio tray to allow full steering clearance. it all fits nicely actually. lining up and using the front 2 holes for the receiver box (instead of the front holes of the tray) moved the tray forward enough so that the brake/throttle linkage lined up perfectly. ill post pics soon

project mbx6.5r

ditched the bce chassis which allowed me to move the radio tray forward. brake/throttle linkage lines up perfect.

x7 radio tray, center diff mount/brakes, diffs and front upright arms

minor modifications to allow for full steering clearance

going to the track saturday night, should be interesting
