Its really hard to accurately measure anything over 40-45C (in real world conditions).

And honestly, something to keep in mind is that batteries work most efficiently when they are warm (not hot, not ambient temp). In the case of a 1/12th scale 1 cell Li-Po, they work best at around 10C continuous, as the pack warms up and holds its voltage a bit longer. I've turned faster laps with a 10C 1/12th scale pack (over time) than any 65, 70 or whatever higher C pack.

Now, I'm not saying your VTA car needs to have 10C batteries in it, but there is a "most efficient" discharge rate that works best with that motor/esc.

I also don't understand how the tabs on the cells themselves can actually handle "100C"

I ran a Thunder Power 65C pack in my VTA last year, and swapped it out with a Dynamite 30C pack, and turned the same lap times.

Anyway, just some stuff I've found through my tinkering...

Relax, I just noticed you had posted on a similiar topic in the onroad section with the same response and was looking for a little more clarity. I looked at some of your older posts and saw the same things.

I haven't seen or heard much about these SPC batteries and am always open to new products. That said, blindly following is not something I do.

Additionally I prefer the "direct/inboard" style packs and it doesnt look like they offer them, a pity.

All my recent posts have been changed to reflect SMC, is that OK with you or is posting about SMC off limits too?

I'm off to RCGroups like many former members from here have done lately and you - you can be like an insect and buzz-off.
Wow, really? Where's the personal attack? He looked at your post history, as did I, and he asked you a legit question. You're reply is this Enjoy RCgroups.

Why would a person, just a regular person on a forum, take it upon himself to look up in detail a person's post history and then go so far as to make a public post about it? Basically he appointed himself law enforcement, judge and jury. If he had an issue why not send me a PM?
I look up user post histories all the time. Your a bit paranoid, imo.

I didn't see it as a personal attack either. He was just asking a question and you kinda exploded on him. What was so offensive about his question?

Also, I second SMC lipos. One thing, however. They use smaller cases for their 7200mah 2s lipos than other companies and can sometimes swell up a bit. SMC states that this is perfectly normal.

However, my all time favorite lipo is the R1wurks 7200mah batteries that you can get on Tqrcracing. FANTASTIC value in a lipo.

They use the standard size case that ROAR approves of. No other choice if you want the sticker on the battery.
