Couple things first where the c4.2 using all the brass weight peices? 2Nd a aluminum chassis is going be heavy and maybe your car slow out of the hole. Prob 200+ grams over the platic chassis is that worth the added benefits? Id say carbon fiber with a chasiss protector would be a lot better choice

Avid's new chassis will be aluminum?

Awesome if so, will solve the biggest problem with the B4 platform, can't wait to see.

What do you guys think will give me slightly longer tire life:
Green Barcodes V1
or
Green Barcodes V2?

Thanks!

Probably going to be about the same. The V1 is a foward traction tire. The V2 is going to have more side bite.

I really hate to be a debby downer, but as of late I have really started to wonder/hope what direction AE is going in their designs for the next few years. What has gotten me to thinking about it is AE's results on the world stage recently. In particular, last year @ 1/8 worlds, "rumor" has it the AE drivers had to use Kyosho drive shafts & related parts because the AE shafts weren't up to the challenge, & they lost . This year for 2wd worlds, AE had to use an aftermarket chassis because the AE design wasn't up to the challenge, & they lost . Today for 4wd worlds, AE is using an aftermarket chassis because the AE design isn't up to the challenge, & they didn't get tq (the race hasn't been run yet, so there's still some hope). The top echelon of AE drivers DO NOT EVEN COMPETE with the sc10 4x4 because the design is lacking, so they never win. See the pattern?

Don't get me wrong, I love my b4 & b44 & they both work VERY well. The problem is, all 3 designs are OLD & have only received minor updates to try to stay ahead of the competition. Meanwhile, the competition is coming out with new, innovative designs that are catching up with & surpassing the AE designs on the track. The next round of new releases from AE, over the next 1-2 years, are going to be VERY telling on where the company is heading. Hopefully we will see a b5/t5/sc10t2 that is either rr/mr convertible or preferably 2 separate chassis, a b45, an rc8b2/t2, not to mention a 4wd sc that can actually compete the other brands. Hopefully these will be revolution/next step kind of designs rather evolution type designs. This will be a very good direction for the company to be going in.

What I'm afraid we are going to see is a .3 series of cars & more cheap rtr cars to compete with Traxxas. IMHO, this will be a VERY bad sign for AE racers.

The only part that matters. The B4 and B44 win more club races on a given weekend than any other chassis. Yes, they are older designs, but they work.

You don't even race the Sc10 4x4 right ?
Sad .....

So go buy something with mass laser etching's if that going to make you happy.

The B4 yeah its a old battle axe & is still the car to beat ...

Sc10 4x4 is not old , its very competitive and more durable then all the rest .
B44 is not a older design either ..

You really think Ae can't cut a alloy chassis of their own ?

Think you could buy any of those sugar cars and not shave 1/10 sec off your current times with the B4 ...

That would be sweet, I wouldn't mind a lil bit more weight, I have added weight to mins since I am running a TINY lipo and even in stock class a lil extra weight would be fine, the extra weight would be nice and low!

But seriously worlds in being raced in very EXTREME racing conditions! Everybody is having problems, Kyoshos are breaking along with AE cars. In "real world" non sugared tracks AE cars are just as good if not better than the rest of the pack! No worries....
