Hopefully someone else can chime in on how the CF chassis handles looser dirt, aluminium seems to be flavour of the month these days on buggy's.

Any must have hop ups out of the box?
Avid shock mount bushings, Grey front, Green rear springs and Machined shock pistons from GHEA, AE or Avid. The kit molded pistons have way to much blow by. Machined pistons just make the shocks work better. I like the 4 hole Avid 2+2 pistons. 1.5x1.1 fronts and the 1.6x1.1 rear. 35frt 32.5rr cars works awesome outdoors

If you have a set of calipers or micrometers, I posted the actual dimensions I measured from my bulkhead. (in the post with the picture) I just measured the o-ring thickness, and subtracted .015 from that number, and thats how much I shaved down the bulkhead. That way the o-ring is under a little bit of compression and minimizes how much the arm "moves" during racing conditions. If you need a more detailed answer/pics, let me know...I have a spare bulkhead I could mod and post a step by step.

Anyone got any setup sheets using the Avid chassis for a typical 1/8th low traction track?
Honestly I just reset my alignment (camber/toe/ride height) back to the same specs as when I was running the carbon chassis (heavier chassis changes those numbers, so i reset them back to what I was running previously) and the buggy has been money ever since! I would have too look back through my notes, but I did go up one color on the front spring (from yellow to red) and if I remember right, it was after I did the AVID chassis. My son runs the AVID chassis car and as far as setups go, he is a "set it and forget it" kinda guy lol. I don't do much if any changes on his car at all and it's dialed. When he lets me run his wheeler (lol) I am routinely .5-1 second faster with his car than I am with my B44.1 w/big bores. I'm concentrating my efforts on 2wd right now, but when I get serious with 4mod again I'm either taking his car over or getting myself the AVID chassis....it's THAT good!

As for servo, I agree the 1258 is a killer choice. I run that servo in everything except my RC8.2e (run a 1256 in that for more tq)

Oh and as for this car being good on 1/8 tracks or on loose dirt....HELL YES it does awesome!! on a large 1/8 clay track I was running just as fast with my b44.1 than I was with my RC8.2e. I also run on another blown out, dusty dirt track, and the B44.1 kicks ass out there too. Great thing is you really don't have to do much setup wise to be dialed on just about any track. Thats what I love about this car!!

I run an 8.5 in both cars and I feel like it's perfect. Never too much power, and never not enough. it's juuuuust right lol

interesting. Would much rather run shorty's. I have not bought my electronics for mine yet and I have a bunch of shorties. Would like to know what mods it took to do it.

He makes them to order. He's always out of stock but when you put an order in he will get to work.

Then there's this if you want to try it yourself

Wild cherry would be the one to ask, I remember him building a associated/thunder tiger 4wd corr truck, he might be able to check it out for us.

I've seen your work on the paint thread, I may hit you up soon to put some color on the new body that's out. Always just throw a 2 color with a mask job on my SC bodies cuz they don't last long but an open wheel chassis is worth a sweet paint job.

Nice work
