Team Associated B4.2 Thread

I could be wrong but my guess is that neither JCon or AE has internal anodizing capability, they send it to a shop that does (that shop may even make the parts) and specify blue. It was said in the old B4.1 thread that blue ano is the hardest to match. So given those two things unless JCon was using the same shop as AE the chances of the blue ano matching is really bad.
My question is how is this any different/better than the AE plate or the AVID plate? The weakness of the AE plate is that the material is all removed from one side, this is going to give it the tendency to bend as there are stresses in the part from the machining process. The AVID plate is machined clean through, in a different direction than the AE plate and not as near the motor mount. Honestly the AVID plate should be the best design of the milled plates I've seen. That said someone was just complaining of the softness of the AL used on his plate and that the screws stripped out. That's obviously not good.

For the life of me I don't see why they just don't make a buggy.
Maybe there is more money in aftermarket parts over selling kits.

My anodized AE B4.2 parts are already different shades of blue, lol. None of it matches perfectly anyway. The anodizing on my T4.1 is fairly consistent though. I understand where you are coming from, but when AE can't even get their own parts in the same kit to match your fighting an uphill battle.

Kurt has designed a new chassis for the b4 platform, I saw it at the recent surf city classic, it is a slim inline design and able to use a shorty, full stick pack and saddle packs. It is going to be aluminum and will come with a body. It is a little longer in design but he has a reason for it. Also he states that he will design a mid motor configuration once he finishes the design.
