i am using a flat aluminum horn and i space the arm level. i put a xcore servo in today but it is taller and the body had to be notched so the linkage cleared.

Default Tekno RC Releases the EB48.2 AVAILABLE AND SHIPPING NOW!

Tekno RC’s presence in the 1/8th E-buggy class has been steadily growing since the release of the EB48 in August of 2012. Now we are introducing an updated EB48.2 buggy that is not only more competitive, but also represents the best value in the marketplace. Tekno RC has improved performance and durability without increasing the price of the kit.

The list of improvements on the EB48.2 starts with our XT suspension arms (TKR5030XT, TKR5036XT) as standard equipment which improves durability tremendously. We have included the +1.5 degree rear toe plate (TKR5013B) along with a new 0.5 degree offset insert to go along with the 1.0 and 0.0 offset inserts (TKR5021). New shock cartridges and shock bushings (TKR6008) improve handling consistency and reduce shaft deflection.

The differentials have been overhauled with new cross-pins and internal gears (TKR5149, TKR5150, as featured on the SCT410) as well as new straight cut CNC diff ring and pinion gears (TKR5151, TKR5152). The new gears are quieter, smoother and more efficient than previous gears and feature lightweight cutouts to reduce rotating mass. Lightened differential outdrives (TKR5112X, TKR5114X) are used throughout. The lightened aluminum center driveshaft (TKR5077) is now standard as well. A lighter drivetrain results in faster acceleration, higher top speed, and reduced wear. Our new angled rear gearbox (TKR5016B) and larger bearings (TKRBB05134) round out the driveline improvements. The new gearbox reduces wear and increases efficiency by minimizing the drive angles.

Up front the EB48.2 features a new HD servo saver spring (TKR5101X) which helps to keep you pointing in the right direction. Lightened steering posts (TKR5102A) as well as lightened suspension sleeves (TKR5054A, TKR5055A) help reduce weight without any sacrifice in durability. Aluminum hard anodized pivot balls are used throughout (TKR5049A, TKR5052A, TKR5053A, TKR5058A, TKR5079A) to reduce weight. A more durable servo horn has also been included.

Combine all of this with an improved out-of-the-box setup and you have the best 1/8th Electric Buggy on the market. The EB48.2 raises the bar once again!

EB48.2 New Features List:
  • Updated XT arms front and rear (TKR5030XT, TKR5036XT)

Any possibility of an "upgrade" kit that can be had for a few less $$ than buying all the parts separately?

Nice...finally replaced the list of faulty parts the .1had...i guess some people were right about those parts :-)....lol I spent about a grand to build my .1 to be a good buggy (pretty much every part you've added to this kit). I guess my .1 is going to sell for a whole lot less now ha.

Hmm I can't see how they were faulty parts mate there are heaps of us still running the 1st buggy and no problems ,

These are improvements from a company thats want to remain at the top so after a year they fund and issues or better things and improved

If you have all ready done these parts then why would you even think about upgrading ?

These buggy's will last way longer then a year of racing just enjoy.

It might have been a tounge in cheek remark but there is a lot of other companies that are not as active as Tekno. , I know I won't be changing my .1 EB48 as I feel there are no real issues at all , and if needed I will replace just that part for the new improved version but not the whole kit

My car is just about a .2 and I am going to run it for a little longer as it is still like new. I will be ordering a .2 to start the fall season. My .1 will become my project car. I want to make a shorty pack specific car out of it to see how it runs. Should be cool. I want to start fresh with the EB-48.2 for the fall though. Looking forward to picking one up.

so to confirm, other than the specific buggy parts and a-arms, carriers, etc. the driveline is now compatible with the SCT410 correct? Trying to decide on either going EB48.2 or going with an SCT410 converted buggy to share parts as much as possible. RIght now my current EB48 has its own warchest lol.

I love the way you manage the EB48 line. You are so reactive with the "bad parts", the "little errors" of the first batchs...
I hope and think the EB48.2 will be a great success too.
I can imagine your designer is one of the happiest one in this industry !
You are one of the company which has understood the first, that 1/8 electric offroad will be a major class in the future, and then you succeed in doing a very recognizable car with a really different design.
The EB48 success here in France, is unbelievable. Great job !
Bye !
Absolutly my friend sylveris !....

For me too , the Way taken by tekno Is very very interesting and i love this Eb.48 so much
I'll not buy a eb48.2 before 2014 cause I've upgraded mine every update parts.

The biggest challenge for me Is to find a very good set up on our frenchies tracks ( fast section, dusty and very bumpy ) and it's became really good !

Excellent job tekno rc ! For me the best car by the best factory !

Congrats

"Magic" hd .......with his "Magic" eb48

Go go go tekno !

The EB48.2 drivetrain is the same as the EB48 except for the aluminum center shaft, lightened outdrives, and new ring and pinion gears.

The SCT still has the smaller driveshafts and outdrives better suited for 1/10 SC. The diff ring and pinion and also the internals (except outdrives) are 100% compatible.
