Ok just wondering, 8x14's would last half a pack, maybe a pack if I was lucky in my Serpent Truggy. The serpent buggy didn't have an issue with them. I guess the longer arms and more weight is what would blow them out. I'll be watching the thread for a couple months after its release to see how they are holding up.

What battery tray size will it have? I hope it will be the same as Tekno V4 conversions since they are just enough to fit those Turnigy 6S packs

Also, helical or straight-cut diff gears?

Updated the truck to the v2 front and rear end which uses 8x16's. I just don't want to buy another rc that needs another $200.00 for an "update" down the road.

I would like to stay fairl ay cheaper on this so I really like the price of the xerun. I will also be running on 4s since I already have a few batteries for my other car. Any info or suggestions would be appreciated
I would suggest the 150amp XERUN, its a tight fit but I think with the weight you may need the higher amperage rating. I would run the 1800kv motor in the buggy and put the 2650 in the Truggy.

Battery tray is the same as the EB48 and SCT410, 50mm x 148mm.
Straight cut gears for best efficiency.

Only the front hubs of the Tekno's use 8x14's, rears have always been 8x16.

I didn't mean how you fixed it but how you killed them so fast?

I don't know, driving it. 8x14 are generally junk but whatever.

Seems like you're the only one that has a problem with them. They've worked fine in my eb48. Did you ever think it was maybe the car's fault?

Up until I saw the DEX408T announcement, this was going to be my next e-truggy, but sadly (for ET48), DEX408T simply looks better in every department.

Durangos 1/8th buggy looks nice too but drives like a piece and don't even get me started on their 4x4, DNF anyone? Now the serpent looks nice.

Anyway I think Tekno's truggy will be nice. Though it does need a stronger motor mount (front diff holder). My EB48's has failed several times now. The flange on the bottom bends and it is impossible to keep the motor straight. No way will it hold a truggy motor unless it is beefed up.

I don't race, I only bash, so driving characteristics is not something I care about one bit. To me durability comes first, and everything else second. That's why I got an RC8T V4 instead of any other number of choices

Motor mount is actually about the only thing that worries me in the DEX408T, I just feel that for bashing the motor needs at least 4 screws to hold it. I'm also baffled as to the absence of exact material specifications on DEX408T product page - I'd be interested to know what aluminium theyse (6061 or 7075), as well as what kind of steel us used for drivetrain components.

In that regard, of course, a Serpent truggy would be the ideal choice, but I'm not sure when/if one will be released.

If durability is your main interest I would not buy anything Durango make. Really not hating on Durango but I have owned their stuff, it breaks a lot.

Serpent will be out very soon. A sponcered driver/dealer had one at my local tracks months ago (link below). But I plan to buy the Tekno (if I get a truggy). I like the EB48 a little better than the serpent 1/8th buggy and I bet I will like Tekno's truggy better too.

I've never heard anyone have a problem with this before. The eb48's motor mount is super beefy and i haven't had any issues with it "bending".

Really? Side by side packs = more wiring and are generally more unbalanced than a single 4s pack. Huge spur gear and esc tray raise center of gravity. Not to mention the pinion sits about 1cm away from your battery. The rango looks good, but i'm not getting how it's better in every way compared to the tekno.
